Some quotes from OL Andrus Peat after his official visit to Nebraska:

"It was great," Peat said. "I mean I was really impressed by everything. I got in on Thursday night and I left on Saturday afternoon. I'd say it was a good trip."

"It was really cool," Peat said. "I saw him over the summer, but I still hadn't seen him in a long time. It was good to catch up. It was fun. I know (high school teammate, Avery Moss) was excited to see Todd too. It was cool to have Avery there too. He and I experienced Nebraska for the first time together."

"I just really wanted to look at the school and see the atmosphere at Nebraska," Peat said. "I was really impressed by that. The fans are great. The whole atmosphere and energy there was great. It was really impressive at the beginning of the game - it was really loud. I was coming out of the tunnel before the game with some other recruits and it was crazy how so many people knew my name. It just shows that the fan support is great there."

"I'd never experienced a game like that. It's a whole different atmosphere there than any other school I've been to. That was pretty crazy."

"It was real cool," he said. "He showed me around the campus a little bit and I got a chance to meet a lot of the players - it was really cool to spend time with Todd."

"Coach Pelini, I really liked him," Peat said. "He's really straight forward with everything. He basically just told me all the facts about Nebraska and the O-line situation, how I can help. He didn't put any pressure on me or anything. It was just the facts, which I liked."

"It's great just the way they pound the ball," he said. "They do a lot of different stuff. They run some spread stuff, some pro-style stuff too, like with their pass blocking. It's just a lot of variety that could show my skill set."

"After this trip, I feel really good about Nebraska and comfortable - I could see myself playing there," Peat said. "I took my visit to Stanford two weeks ago so I'm still considering them. I'm thinking about visiting Florida State and USC. I'm still kind of considering Texas, so those would be my main five schools. I really don't have any time set [for a decision], it's just whenever I know."

No idea but he'd be available to play immediately as a transferring grad student. He had wrist surgery a while back and his stats this year weren't great, but he'd be an instant upgrade over anything on campus right now.

Some late night recruiting notes from OrangeBloods...

**2013 OL Josh Thomas of Shreveport Evangel Christian, who was rumored to have been offered by Stacy Searels over the summer when he visited Austin for camp, has UT sitting atop his list at the moment. Things can obviously change over the course of three months, but Thomas likes UT so much right now that he's not ruling out a Junior Day commitment in February. Surprisingly he has LSU listed as "fourth or fifth" at the moment.

**ATH Corey Coleman of Richardson Pearce hasn't heard from Texas since Darrell Wyatt told him to expect an offer a few weeks ago. There's no mention that he's out of the running to eventually receive an offer, but things have slowed down a lot.

**The consensus is ATH Kendall Sanders is all UT after he visited campus on Wednesday evening and met with the staff, but he's yet to make a public commitment. The rumor goes that he's been having trouble getting in touch with the OSU staff to let them know he's opening up his recruitment. There's also a possibility that he may want to wait until the 2012 US Army All-American Bowl in January to make his commitment on national television.

I deleted the previous posts on ATH Kendall Sanders so there's no confusion. OrangeBloods reported they expect him to confirm his UT offer at some point today. His commitment announcement is still up in the air.

Hook 'Em 24/7 gave out a little bit of info on the secret out-of-state, committed recruit that they've been sitting on for the past few weeks. They didn't give a name but he's a TE. Most think it's Taylor McNamara of San Diego, CA who recently decommitted from Arizona after the firing of Mike Stoops. He's been looking at several schools. UT is still in contact with this mystery recruit but it's not a certainty that he'll be invited to campus for a visit.

New Rivals 100 came out this morning. RB Trey Williams moves up to #13 and receives a fifth star. Well deserved as he's carrying Spring DeKaney right now.

Saw this picture in the San Antonio paper on Friday morning but couldn't find a digital copy until now. Most hated Aggie on the planet right now besides Sherman? Bowing down to the opposing coach.

I'd kill for some junior film on Josh Thomas. I recorded a Evangel game earlier this year, but I never got around to watching it. My concern with him is weight. At 320 + as a junior you wonder how well he moves. Texas shouldn't be looking for awhile. If Thomas an OT, take him. Return the favor on Ishmael Wilson, if LSU is going to go in our backyard and get one, we should do the same. Yes I know Wilson is a LA native.

It struck me this morning. LSU is position to win a 3rd national championship in 8 years, winning with a team consisting of almost all LA players. I hope Texas takes notice and tries to do more in LA, especially around Shreveport.

I'd be surprised if Texas got involved with Coleman again if they Sanders all but locked up.

I don't think benching Mike is the answer. I think whatever is wrong is that it's mental. I'm hoping Coach Wyatt can coach him up before the bowl game.

I like that Texas is showing some interest in CA players. That DE that committed to Oregon, Armstead and now McNamara. Even with USC's resurgence, California is wide open.

Sucks that he may make us wait until January, but it's good to know he's a Horn. Can't fault a guy for wanting to make his announcement and rep Texas on national television.

Interesting, reports now he is open to A&M, OSU, UT, Baylor, TCU, Tech Tech - and he is going to take some visits. That said I'd be surprised (and saddened) if he doesn't end up a horn.

When I read that report initially, I was thinking his coach listed all of those schools in an attempt to be politically correct. It's obvious Sanders is enamored by UT and his coach knows that.

**DB Adrian Colbert had his in-home visit with TCU this evening and he's scheduled to officially visit Fort Worth on December 16th. Texas Tech will make an in-home visit tomorrow night and Texas will do theirs next week. He will be at the Baylor/Texas game in Waco on Saturday.

**Per OrangeBloods tonight, the staff has invited a prospect to campus for banquet weekend but his name hasn't been released. We should know more information on that tomorrow.

Oklahoma State commit, OL Donald Hawkins, may not be visiting Okie State this weekend as was planned. Good news for Texas.

Also a reminder, JUCOs don't count toward the 25 player per recruiting class rule. So Texas could potentially have 25+ (27 most likely) new players for next season.
