Feels like the Mizzou game all over again

How did Brown go from nearing 100% to questionable? Is Texas messing with Baylor or did he get injured in Practice?

Armstead forced to reschedule Texas visit
December, 2, 2011 Dec 2
AUSTIN, Texas -- U.S. Army All-American Arik Armstead (Elk Grove, Calif./Pleasant Grove) has to reschedule his official visit to Texas, according to his father.
Gus Armstead said his son wouldn’t be able to make it to Austin on Dec. 9, as scheduled, because he had to take his ACT.
“We couldn’t work that out, so we’ll have to reschedule,” Gus said. “We have been talking with [Texas defensive ends] Coach [Oscar] Giles about coming for a bowl practice or coming later.”

Game over if true.
This is what I'm thinking. I wouldn't buy it until he's seen before the game. As far as I'm concerned, he's probably fine.
On J. Magee: suspecting the obvious here, but he probably had his offer pulled because of grades. His chances of qualifying aren't sounding good.
i don't think brown plays today from close sources i know. if he does it will be limited action at best. he has knee tweeked and his toe is still not 100%.
I know the staff was pretty pissed off at Sam Houston HS last year when DT Quincy Russell didn't qualify, so I was surprised that there was a late recruiting resurgence with Magee. We'll know soon enough if he needs to go the JUCO route like Russell.
Johnathan Gray ejected, but Aledo still wins.

33-0 over Stephenville. Gray 18 carries for 195 and a TD.
Some are saying the ejection will cost him next week by rule. If true that is a sad way for his HS career to end for high stepping should they lose next week. His coach did say he expects him to play though in the linked article.
Trey after his game. Thankfully still rockin the maroon.
Did they win he doesn't look happy?
Yes, they won.
He had 36 carries for 223 yards and 3 TDs. Two additional TDs were called back from penalties
It's coming across the wires now, and is being reported by Orangebloods and Inside Texas, Marcus Johnson has committed to Texas. Johnson will meet with Mack as soon as today to make it official. 2 big time pick ups within a week at a need position.
Hook 'Em.
Hopefully Brewer can get the ball to him!
Great news. Need something good after yesterday.
Per OrangeBloods, OL Andrus Peat will NOT be visiting for the team banquet next weekend. No word if he's trying to get to Austin at a later date or if that's pretty much it for UT.
I know Aledo and Stephenville do not like each other at all and things were chippy yesterday. I think both of Gray's personal fouls were for taunting. I'm hoping because he didn't get ejected for unnecessary roughness that he'll be able to play next week.
Anyone else see this?

I 100% stand by my report that Mack Brown will likely be forced out at Texas. Would never report w/ out independent, corroborative sources.
Doubt it. Brown has done too much and the incoming recruiting class is too good for Texas to force him out for two bad seasons. Another two like these past two and I could definitely see him being forced out though.
what does anyone know about Thomas Johnson?? I am hearing that he might de-commit??
Some quotes from ATH Kendall Sanders after his UT commitment:
"I grew up wanting to be a Longhorn and nothing changed," Sanders said. "Then they offered me as a receiver so I couldn't turn it down. That's what I want to play."
"I've always been a Longhorn and I'm excited for it," Sanders said.
"Really, I was like Texas?! Texas?! It was my dream," he said. "I got this opportunity to see my dream, take it or go somewhere else? So I was like, I have to go with my dream. I have to complete my dream."
"That was extremely tough (decommitting from OSU)," Sanders said. "It hurt me really, but I have to do what I have to do."
"I was so confident and when I called them and he answered on the second phone call and I forgot because …it's coach Brown," he said. "I said 'Coach Brown I just wanted to call and tell you I want to be a Longhorn.' He's known I've wanted to become a Longhorn all my life. I have pictures all over my house and I'm just glad it worked out."
"It feels great. It's released a lot of stress," Sanders said. "Now I can focus on my Army Bowl and just getting ready to go to Texas and do my thing."
"They can expect a hard working young man," he said. "I know I'm going to have a lot of people doubting me because I come from a small school, but I've been working my butt off and it's going to pay off."

Just something to keep an eye on right now. Oregon and some other schools have been trying to get him to visit but he has no plans to make any trips right now. There's always chatter towards National Signing Day that UT commitments could be looking elsewhere and it almost always works out. DE Hassan Ridgeway has been another name that gets tossed around. A lot of these recruits will be at the team banquet next weekend and/or receive in-home visits from the staff soon so that will be a big help for anyone that's getting cold feet.
