I might have to endorse an ST meltdown if the rich keep getting richer while the Spurs go around getting fooled by players who are only using them for leverage.

It's been a quiet day, for sure....but really, let it simmer for a while.
Spurs addressed one need (backup point guard) already.
Apparently they bought some time with McDyess, and there is no rush to amnesty Jefferson; they can do that at any point. They might as well use that time to see if either has any value on the trade market before they make either of those moves, and a lot of teams aren't going to start filling the gaps until they've made their major moves (which I doubt either or Dice qualifies as).
Would've been nice to see a blockbuster moves for the Spurs today...but I'm pretty sure we all know thats probably not going to be in the cards. Doesn't mean all hope is lost. At least this season we only have to exercise two weeks of patience instead of four months.

according to Indy media people, McRoberts will sign with either the Lakers or Memphis.
^ That sucks. I would've loved to see him as a Spur. Would be interesting to see what kind of deal he gets.
The Lakers can't offer more than the mini-MLE, so he would have been within the Spurs' ability to pay. Aside from that, Laker interest in him is one more sign that they're going to move Gasol.
I think the Spurs are likely trying to make a move via trade now that all the FAs they seemed interested in are gone.

The Spurs could probably use whichever mid-level they're left with after they settle up on Jefferson on one of the China guys if they're willing to wait until March.
Maybe every other team will have blown through their money and and they'd have a shot at Kenyon Martin. I assume Denver would match a Wilson Chandler offer sheet.
