I'm right there with you Floss. I like Kevin's game, but I hope this offer didn't come at the expense of Corey Coleman or Daje Johnson.
Damn. Offering little Vaccaro a full ride instead of a grayshirt makes me wonder just how much attrition this staff is expecting and how many more prospects they're targeting. At first glance I wonder why he's offered over ATH Corey Coleman or ATH Daje Johnson. I guess, at the very least, it's a good way to get the older Vaccaro to come back for his senior year. He does have some skills, though. You factor in Colbert and that's 25 for 2012.

With Kevin Vaccaro's commitment there is only room for three more commitments, the likely options are:
DGB
Mario Edwards Jr
Adrian Colbert
Torshiro Davis
Daje Johnson
Corey Coleman
Daniel Brooks
My guess (because I like guessing stuff), and this is just a hunch: AC and DJ (hope Im wrong)

I dont know guys. I kinda have mixed feelings on the Kevin offer. I understand you all's concern with numbers being so tight but i dont mind the offer. The guy kinda reminds me of the honey badger for LSU. Not very big but always around the ball, not scared of anyone and ferocious. Tyrann proved that u dont necessarily have to have 4 or 5 stars next to your name in order to ball out. If he does cause Kenny to stay another year like Tfloss suggested then im definitely for it. As long as we have room for the possible commitments of Super Mario, Adrian (in which i think is already in the bag) and DGB.
With talk of this mystery offensive recruit out there, im getting excited about the possibility of it being Trey Williams. I wouldnt mind him getting one of those last spots over coleman or johnson if we somehow dont bring in DGB or Mario. Anyone have more info on the mystery offensive recruit?
Adrian Colbert's commitment is official and hitting the wire, as well as Kevin Vaccaro's commitment.![]()
Just saw a tweet that read:
"Spoke with Daje Johnson this weekend. Said he doesn't talk to Texas anymore and will be heading to TCU for sure."
from Blake Munroe (don't know who that is)
Hamilton has mentioned unnamed DEs that Texas is evaluating on several occasions.
I see that Super Mario is doing the Hook 'Em properly. Well done.
It's not that hard.
It is for Matthew McConaughey.
maybe still a chance kenny holds off NFL for one more year? i'm still not counting on it but interesting quote below.

Vaccaro has dreamt about playing for Texas for some time, and the appeal of the Longhorns increased when his brother joined the team in 2009. He just wasn't sure if he would make his way to Texas with a scholarship offer or a greyshirt.
"[Coach Akina] said if things didn't work out [with the scholarship] I could for sure go there as a greyshirt," Vaccaro said. "He wasn't expecting me to get a greyshirt at all. He was expecting me to get a full ride."
Vaccaro said that he would have accepted the greyshirt if the scholarship offer never came.
"Most likely because I have always wanted to go to Texas," he said. "Especially with Kenny there for another year before he goes to the league."
Some quotes from DE Torshiro Davis after his visit to UT. He mentioned on another site that LSU was still his #1 school:
“I liked the visit,” Davis said. “I got the chance to meet all of the coaches and get to know them better. Just being around the players was the best part. I felt comfortable around the players. It was pretty tight."
“On a scale of one to ten, it probably an eight,” he said.
“Basically, they said that I could come in and get on the field. They need more edge rushers and said I could make an impact,” he said.
“I really haven’t talked a lot about the visit, she (Davis' mother) is saying that she liked it a lot. Everything was real nice,” he said.
“I’m just going to take my visits and see what happens. I’m still committed to LSU and will visit in January (20-21st weekend). I’m going to visit Nebraska next weekend too,” he said.

DB Colin Blake of San Antonio Brandeis has decommitted from Texas A&M. It's a trend that could continue depending on which members of the previous staff Kevin Sumlin decides to keep.
**Per Hook 'Em 24/7, Mack Brown will be on the road the majority of this week doing campus and in-home visits with some of the UT commitments. Killeen Harker Heights will be his first stop this afternoon where he'll see OL Camrhon Hughes. LB Alex De La Torre and DB Orlando Thomas are also expected to get visits from Brown later in the week because they too are early enrollees and will be on campus in January for the spring semester.
**OL Kennedy Estelle is scheduled to receive an in-home visit from Major Applewhite and Stacy Searels tomorrow night. Estelle's official visit to UT is tentatively scheduled for January 20th.
Just a heads up that WR Dorial Green-Beckham and DE Mario Edwards are scheduled for official visits to OU this weekend. Edwards may re-schedule for January but that's the latest.
More quotes from QB Connor Brewer after banquet weekend:
"Staying in the Four Seasons, that was a really nice hotel. So that was a plus. But getting all the commits together and some of the big recruits we're trying to get was awesome," Brewer said. "We went to the banquet and met our hosts and all the guys were great. Then we went to coach (Mack) Brown's house in the morning, that was really special to get to know him and his family. Meeting the strength staff, the academic staff, everything was great, top of the line."
"Going to the Longhorn Network studios, that was awesome too. Texas is the only school in the nation that has their own network. Everything about it was top of the line. It was awesome to go on this official, especially with friends, other commits. Everyone is anxious to get there and start playing."
"Our hosts and the current Texas players weren't really on them (the uncommitted recruits) too much. But I know all of them liked it. I think Texas made a big impact on their recruitment," Brewer said. "I know all of them came back liking Texas a little more. I think Texas is in good shape with all of them. There's obviously a lot of recruiting left and they have more official visits. It will be interesting."
"It's not that I'm not in shape, but I want to get in shape for the Under Armour (All-American) game, get ready for that. Then obviously when I get to Texas, I want to get in there and be ready," Brewer said. "It's going to be al lot of hard work in the weight room and in class."
"I want to get prepared before I get there. I'm going to throw a lot, going to get used to everything that I'll be seeing when I'm in college."
"Coach (Bryan) Harsin said he's looking for somebody to step up, to provide leadership and perform well on the field," Brewer said. "This last season was kind of an up and down. I'm going to go in and work as hard as I can. If I win the job, I win the job. Coach Harsin is going to play the guys who are most ready. I'm just going to go in and give it all I've got."
More on in-home visits...Mack Brown will be heading to Mississippi tomorrow to see OL Donald Hawkins and DT Brandon Moore. Both are expected to move to Austin in January.
