Quotes from DGB talking about hanging with Johnathan Gray -
“He’s a real chill dude. I hung out with him a little bit while I was out there and I like being around him. He’s outgoing, he’s funny and he just likes to have fun. You can just talk football with him. We talked about having a great high school career. His rushing has been amazing. He said he’d been hearing a whole lot about me, and we talked a whole lot about the game of football.”

Wisconsin offensive coordinator, Paul Chryst, has accepted the Pittsburgh job for anyone that missed it.
How recent is this? Do you know?
like two weeks i think, when he was up in New York
can't confirm since smart money is the quote is a bit older - probably taken shortly after his KSU visit, or maybe when he was in New York. but the article that used the quote came out today (was posted on 'sporting news'). some news articles out since DGB got USA Today player of year
In case you guys didn't see -- DGB and Mario Edwards since named USA Today Players of the Year for offense/defense respectively.
All-USA: Green-Beckham, Edwards Jr. named players of year

---------------
DGB
College choice: Undecided. "I get asked that every day. I will probably wait until signing day before I announce. I have five favorites: Arkansas, Oklahoma, Alabama, Texas and Missouri. I cut off a lot of colleges during the season because I wanted to focus on my senior season."
---------------
Mario Edwards
College choice: Undecided. "I get a lot of calls and hundreds and hundreds of letters. I get at least between 20-25 letters a day. I just put them all in big trash bags. It may be a little pressure. At the end of the day, it's my decision. I'm going to have my decision made for signing day. I'm looking at LSU, Oklahoma, Texas and (Florida State)."
As always, good pull chronic. You can tell their list is pre-programmed in their responses. Almost like verbal muscle memory.
Barkley is returning to USC next season. With the bowl ban gone in 2012, USC will be a force. Probably the hottest team in the Pac 12 right now.
How do you guys think that Barkley coming back will affect Landry Jones decision??
ESPN High School All-Americans:

I think he'd be crazy to come back. He should be a hot commodity in the draft and sounds like OU is having internal problems right now.
It's official that QB Dayne Crist has decided to follow Charlie Weis to Kansas. Crazy thing is the Jayhawks have also picked up BYU transfer QB Jake Heaps.
Some good 2013 news...DT Justin Manning of Dallas Kimball is likely to be considered the top in-state defender for next year's class and will have his pick of colleges. There have been several different rumors reported about his school preference since this past summer; he's an OU lock because his brother played there, he loves LSU, he likes A&M over UT, etc. Well, Darrell Wyatt and Bo Davis went by his school recently and talked for about an hour and invited him to campus for Junior Days in February where he'll surely be the first DT offered. According to OrangeBloods via one of Manning's teammates, he basically said that all of these offers rolling in are nice, but UT is where his heart is. That's the first time something like that has been reported about Manning so it sounds like Texas is making a strong push. Very good news.
2013 ATH Ricky Seals-Jones and 2013 OL/DL Jake Raulerson have both said they will be making a trip to Austin for Junior Days once they get an official invite from the staff. These two have always been my top candidates for the first offer of the 2013 class. However, the one thing you can bank on is the first offer going out to someone who will commit on the spot.
Woke up from a hungover and I just remembered that I hung out with Alex Okafor last night haha he was hanging out with some soccer friends. I asked one of his friends if he was going to the NFL and he responded, "He is not going anywhere."
Cool, I never really thought Okafor was going anywhere. Vaccaro is the one that worries me, but I think the Kevin offer will cause him to stay.
The fact that Mario says "Undecided" and not "committed to FSU but keeping options open" in that quote is pretty important IMO.
The Manning news is very interesting. Texas has an embarrassment of riches at DT, but there's always room for the best one in the state.
I see RSJ listed as an athlete, it would be a mistake to not keep him on offense. Texas needs a difference maker at TE, RSJ has the best chance to be that guy in quite some time. This position has been painfully shallow in state for awhile. It might be time for Texas to look OOS for TEs. I heard there's a few good ones in California Coach Chambers.

I hope this will ease Tips' Florida concerns.
Little help for Mex. Maybe Raulerson will be the first offer for 2013.

Holiday Bowl Practice Report:

Per Hook 'Em 24/7 this morning, UT could be targeting another OU commitment that's ready to start looking around. No names have been made public but there are several options that could make sense for Texas. DB DeVante Harris of Mesquite Horn is my guess. The rumors of OU's secondary coach, Willie Martinez, leaving the program after their bowl game and UT's pursuit of Harris' high school teammate, TE Vincent Hobbs, are two things that could help the Longhorns should they decide to offer Harris.
