Even if it was a foul, you don't dribble incessantly and expose the ball like that. Do you see Manu dribbling the ball over and over in the same situation? No. He let's the offense set up, hold the ball until he's ready to go, then he goes.

GMAB. He's too slow to get to the rim out of the set offense. Is that not blatently clear???? Now it's dribble...dribble... make move to basket...get stopped...move back out...dribble...dribble...shoot
    Perfectly put

Yeah, that his assist to turnover ratio this game was atrocious...
A simple "no, I can't figure out what that means" would have sufficed.

It means he was doing all the creating for the offense. When the ball wasn't in Duncan's hands, then the entire offense was dependent on Tony creating for everyone else on the floor. The ball stopped dead when he didn't come back to take it away from whoever was standing still looking around for a help pass.

He had 7 TO's and 8 assists because he was being forced to create everything for everyone.

First of all, who else on this team would have even had a chance to guard Jennings?

The pull up jumper after the Kawhi steal was a damn good shoot that just didn't go in.

Jennings clearly fouled TP on the turnover. That's a call the Bucks get at home. Same with Timmy's charge. No huge gripe there.

TP was confused because he thought Pop would call a TO after the jumpball but he didnt. Wasn't a good looking play but the spurs got a wide open 3pt attempt from their best 3pt shooter this year.

RJ missed, that happens. But Carlos ing Delfino is hitting step back 25 footers all night.

    Gimme a ing break Spurfan.
I agree. A lot of overreaction to a loss on ST (as usual). But you honestly can't be happy with the way Parker runs the offense.

agree things happen....we need to stop talking about how tp played and talk about how leonard played ....leonard looked awesome out there....hope he can play like this all the time...sucks that the spurs lost cause it would of been sweet if they did cause leonard had a pretty solid game

The reason you don't take that shot is because you have absolutely nobody to rebound the miss. You don't close out games taking wimpy jumpshots. It's the reason GOOD closers attack the basket. You score or get fouled.
TP routinely hits that shot. Go watch Spurs vs Hornets 08 game 7 if you dont believe me.

That wasn't a "hero" shot. It was a wide open shot that he normally knocks down. And it would have given the Spurs the lead. You're acting like a
    That he normally knocks down

The guys mid-range shot is very inconsistent. There was a point were he was making strides after working with Chip and than he just kind of plateaued, the last year or two hes actually regressed imho. Too bad they stopped doing hotspots but this is from two yrs ago when his shot was slightly better.

And no comment about the incessant dribbling in that turnover play? Go watch it again. Protect the ing basket. This isn't rocket science.

I guess asking him to outplay Jennings closing out a game is too much these days.
He was fouled on the play when he lost the ball. Are you blind or do you just refuse to accept that he was on his way to an open lane to the basket?

Please tell me more about how Tony should have attacked the rim with one of the best shotblockers in the game standing right under the rim. Please tell me how that's the smart thing to do. I'm interested in your basketball takes that categorize wide open, potential go-ahead, 15-foot jumpers as "wimpy shots".

Manu has racked up countless turnovers in the clutch by over-dribbling and trying to be a hero. Just because he's sitting on the bench healing his brittle bones right now doesn't mean he's flawless.

Tony had plenty of bad moments in this game, but the game wasn't lost on just him. The D on Stephen Jackson (and almost everyone else) was a big part of it too.

In other words, he was trying to play the position of PG and managed to have a ratio that would land most other NBA PG's in the D-league. Thanks for the analysis Sherlock...

For the record, I didn't think the loss was entirely Parker's fault but he certainly contributed to it. The Parker defenders on this board are ridiculous though, just can't find it in themselves to admit he had a bad game. It's ok man, if you wanna excuse Parker for having too much on his plate, than I guess you are en led...

Without Manu, TP is the offense. And we are pretty damn good even with him doing EVERYTHING for us on that side of the court.

The defense is much much much more troubling. They haven't put together a good defensive effort since the start of the season. That Dallas game is misleading cuz the Mavs missed a lot of shots they normally make.

We are putting up points but cant get a stop when needed. Same as the last two seasons.

Oh and we should have known Tony was headed to a big turnover game soon -- he had the second best assist/T.O. ratio in the league going into this one.

Manu isn't flawless, but he doesn't overdribble when closing a game. The vast majority of turnovers Manu had trying to close games are trying to split a screen (and he definitely had quite a few of those).

I never said Tony lost this game. I actually said he played well overall.
That doesn't mean he didn't suck in the clutch. Some people are seemingly too sensitive to a comment like that with the crap Tony's been getting.

God forbid somebody actually expects him to be a point guard. Ya, sucks for him that Manu is out of action but that just means he needs to step up and take on the mantle.

Manu fan is the most pathetic waste of space on these boards.

Tony Parker can do no right.

"Manu doesn't overdribble when closing a game!!"

No, he just chucks up fadeaway 25-footers to lose games. But it's ok because he plays with "fiery Argie passion!"

    What a joke.

Tps one of the leaders on this team, so I don't have problem with taking a open jumper. Too much bashing Parker on here, when its the horrible defense that people need to be ing about.
