Thx, hopefully he doesnt make it there. Mack's in home visit is going to be big.
shyne-
See this one post above. I got my posts mixed up last week about DGB's basketball tourney. I had the dates correct (19th-21st) but for some reason I was confused and was referring to his tournament being last weekend. The coaches from Arkansas, Mizzou and Texas were in Springfield last weekend, not St. Louis. The tournament in St. Louis is THIS Thursday through Saturday which is the timeframe that Petrino and his staff are trying to get DGB to Fayetteville for an official visit. It's the one weekend that the Arkansas staff has had their eye on, but I don't think DGB has ever set up the date. They're trying to get him in with other names such as ATH Bralon Addison, RB Trey Williams, LB Dalton Santos and WR Davonte Neal.
Hillcrest plays in this tournament at Lindbergh HS in St. Louis every year so I doubt it's something DGB wants to skip out on. Unless DGB gets home late Friday night or Saturday morning (St. Louis is three hours from Springfield), then I doubt he makes it without traveling straight from St. Louis.
Thx, hopefully he doesnt make it there. Mack's in home visit is going to be big.
Weird update on five-star QB Gunner Kiel...with classes starting at LSU tomorrow, Kiel has yet to enroll. Lots of smoke that he's going to show up on Notre Dame's campus tomorrow. Gotta love recruiting this time of year.
Wow!! Good find TFloss. Thats a hurter for LSU. I was suprised with him committing to LSU to begin with.... considering his strong emphasis on location. His older brother supposedly is transferring from Indiana for a unknown school at the time. I guess this family is full of suprise's. I hope we can get MEJ to sway his decision in a similar fashion.
With Tosh headed to Washington, a few top recruits in Shaq Thompson and Arik Armstead are in a state of indecision. Arik had been highly expected to sign with cal for a few days now. He was to announce today considering that he wants to enroll early, but he has delayed. Both guys twitter pages tell the story. Wish we could have got Arik on campus, he could've possibly been considering Texas right now. I wish we could be considered by Shaq, he was arguably the most impressive at the Army all American game. Recruitment is a marathon not a sprint! We hear it and see it ever year. Exciting stuff!
At this point, I wouldn't be surprised to see Kiel bust.
Don't be surprised if Thomas Johnson commits to A&M as well. I have sources close to Matt Davis that say that he and Thomas Johnson developed a friendship from the summer 7 on 7's. Matt is a super charismatic recruiter and he's been relentless to bring more talent to A&M and especially at the expense of Texas due to the hatred that he developed for Texas as result to his recruitment. He feels that Texas lied to him about their actual desire to bring him in. He feels that after he injured his knee that Texas completely stopped contacting him.
I forgot to add that he has been bragging for a while about getting Texas commits to switch to A&M. And Johnson has been the name he has most mentioned and this was before Thomas actually decommitted.
Somebody was asking about star ratings and I found some stats from Rivals from 2005 to 2009 I summarized below. Lots of people like to say the ratings don't matter because of the guys that come out of nowhere. But the reality is the odds are in favor of the nationally ranked guys. Pretty interesting and thought worth sharing.
% of overall Div 1A Signees by star rating
5* - 1.3%
4* - 12.6%
3* - 32.9%
2* or lower - 53.3%
Odds of being All-American
5* - 1 in 15
4* - 1 in 54
3* - 1 in 147
2* or lower - 1 in 358
Overall - 1 in 145
Would be a crazy development. Keep us posted on what you hear.
If Thomas Johnson commits to Aggie, I'm lifting the ground rules on Sundays with Bill. The BON Citizens can have at it.
If he really shows up in College Station the last weekend before signing day, it's over. Shut 'er down.

Some updates from Hook 'Em 24/7:
**Folks on the Arkansas side of things are saying WR Dorial Green-Beckham WILL be coming to their big recruiting event on an official visit this weekend. No details were given if he plans to work around his basketball schedule or if he's skipping his tournament altogether. Mack Brown's in-home visit with the Beckham family is supposed to go down next week.
**Interesting scenario brewing on the TE offer for the 2012 class. TE Vincent Hobbs has said the staff is planning on bringing in an additional TE this weekend that is currently committed to OOS school. The report didn't mention if the prospect was a Texan, however. The first two prospects that came to mind were Dominic Ramacher who's committed to Oklahoma State and Taylor McNamara who's committed to OU. We should know more by tonight but this definitely could interfere with Hobbs' plans of getting an offer.
More from Hook 'Em 24/7:
**Mack Brown and some staff members made a trip to Brenham this morning to see LB Tim Cole. No word if they also spent time with DT Malcom Brown.
**DT Taylor Bible is planning to enroll in Cisco Junior College.
Here's the list of guys that will be officially visiting UT this weekend. They were unable to attend the team banquet with the rest of the 2012 commitments because their teams were still in the high school playoffs (other than Hobbs and Bluiett).
QB, Jalen Overstreet, Tatum
RB, Johnathan Gray, Aledo
TE, Vincent Hobbs, Mesquite Horn
OL, Kennedy Estelle, Pearland Dawson
DE, Caleb Bluiett, Beaumont West Brook
LB, Peter Jinkens, Dallas Skyline
?????Mystery TE?????
Scratch McNamara. Forgot he enrolled early.
Gerren Ballard, who's committed to TCU and from Whitewright. Not an OOS school though. Griffin Gilbert is also committed to TCU, but I doubt that's happening.
Jordan Smith, from Waco Reicher. Committed to Kansas.
Just random guys I thought of.
edit: Also-
Sean Irwin from Cy-Fair. Committed to Colorado.
Cody Small from Cypress Woods. Committed to Kansas State.
Armand Nance from Spring Dekaney. Committed to Boise State.

Definitely reiterates what I've heard about Swoopes. Harsin wants him, the coaches think they will get him. It's as simple as that.
I believe it when DGB actually makes the official to Arkansas. The loves to hoop, I don't see him skipping a basketball tourney for anybody.
The simplest answer is usually the correct one. Ramacher is probably both. I believe Texas evaluated him earlier in the recruiting process.
