Quit acting you just watched that whole game and didn't have a hint of disappointment after that strong 2nd half. If not, then there's something wrong with you...
Of course I was dissapointed. Calling it the most bitter I've ever felt - even from only a regular season game - is LOLable. Its like some of you have been watching the Spurs for 2 years.

why didn't we double lebron and make him get rid of the ball after it was clearly obvious he was just gonna go chuck up threes? that's what i want to know.

THe entire team we put out there is of NBA caliber and thats easy to see. The thing is that there was only one Lebron James out there and Tim Duncan hasnt' been on that level for at least 5 years.

Nothing to be bitter about though. Thats the silly thing. You get beat by a team you should lose to so I'm not sure why you're bitter unless you've got some hugely unrealistic expectations.
And you get curb stomped with their best player sidelined...

Well, Lebron curbstomped us tonight but I can still think of 2 curbstompings that meant a lot more and were a whole lot uglier:

    2007 finals. SWEEP .

    2010 Offseason.

We got rickrolled by the better team... I agree there were some questionable decisions, but we're nitpicking here... we're missing our best player and you just can't seemingly hide that on the road.

    Lol this

We've been ousted by an 8th seed who never won a playoff game prior to the series
We were swept by a team we historically owned
, we may be in store for another bitter playoff series.

Even in our prime we've had some bitter losses.

Why didn't you include 2010 and 2011 postseason or is your short term memory failing you?

You you think those curbstompings were worse than either of the two I mentioned?

You're as delusional as GNSF in the OP.

You want to know what is appropriate for Spurs fan feeling bitter after a regular season game?

Robinson got called for fouling Malone's elbow. THAT was bitterness inducing.

Then I won't add RJ and George Hill to that list. You've been tormented enough.

RJ still isn't anywhere near as big as Lebron throwing your city under the bus at a ing Boys and Girls club. Its not even close.

I'm not even sure why you included George Hill.

You shouldn't rag on LeBron for the 2010 offseason; as part of The Decision he did get 4 kids scholarships to University of Phoenix, which is the best school in the Cleveland area after all.

I really thought the refs kept the Heat in the first game, tbh. The fouls they called on Tim and Tiago took away their mentality to be physical the rest of the game, and even when they weren't in foul trouble in the second half, that psychology changed and they couldn't get it back.

But really, for the last 2.5 quarters, the defense was an embarrassment. The Heat had either a layup or a wide open look on every single possession. We didn't rotate on screens, didn't close out on shooters, we bought every damn pump fake from Bosh (both Bonner and Duncan were terrible against him) and Kawhi played waaaaay too soft on Lebron, giving him time and space on the elbows. I mean seriously, they treated James like he's the worst shooter in the history of basketball, like he can't hit wide open 12-footers. It was a joke they played so far off him, like they just didn't want to be dunked on and wind up on some highlight clip.

Offensively, they were just terribly soft, and most of the blame has to go to Parker and Duncan. The ball movement was non-existent, they had no idea what sets to run or what plays to run, and nobody ever got to the paint. They tried to get into a stupid 3-point compe ion to end the Miami run instead of trying to get inside baskets or go to the free throw line. Yeah, the refs weren't exactly giving them a fair whistle, that was obvious, but you still had to try.

Some blame also has to go to Pop in this regard. Whenever the team is getting the short end of the whistle, he never fights for the players, never sticks up for them the way Phil Jackson or the other coaches do. Get a technical, scream at a ref, do something. I don't care if the players are playing soft, at some point they still have to know that the coach has their back. There were a lot of instances in the first half where the guys were trying to go inside and got fouled and didn't get a call. When Miami finally started making a run, they quit because by then what was the point? Just once I'd like to have Pop fight for the Spurs, fight for the players and demand a fair shake against some of these glamour teams instead of going for this BS passive-aggressive "we're older than dirt, we're boring, nobody wants to watch us" lines.

Oh and RJ was effing terrible. Such a soft, mentally-weak player. He shouldn't have even gotten on the plane.

The most irratating thing about this game was the opportunity that the Spurs had to be up by 25-30 in the first half. I would have liked to see the game play out had the calls been anywhere close to reasonable.

Would the Heat have the confidence to come out in the 3rd and post those shooting stats if the game were much further out of reach as it should have been? I don't know.

The Spurs quit in this game, with the exception of Green and Kawhai.

Ps: Thank you Pop for playing Bonner against Bosh...GREAT MOVE!! and thank you for not having a clue about how to use Tiago...again, Genius!!

Between the game being kept closer than it should have been, and the Heat shooting better than they ever have from three in a quarter, the end result isn't shocking.

Good news is that it is one loss, and I think they can get one tomorrow.

wouldve been sweet if we could nail shots or trade basket for basket, but we received a huge piled on....sometimes the starters play like and pop continues to leave them in the game for no apparent reason, then clears the bench hoping they get us back into the game....
