We had a 4 point lead with 2:30 to go... with role players missing shots...

It's pretty simple really. Our role players who usually hit open shots are not right now. Bonner, RJ, Green and Neal have all been pretty bad shooting the ball as of late and we wont win with that. They keep getting open look after open look and its brick city over and over again with those guys. Especially Green and Neal.

but lets go back to blaming it on Pop and Parker.

I will put this loss both on Pop for not playing Duncan the last 3 mins and, frankly, TP played like garbage for a good amount of the game too.
Of course you will.... I expect nothing less from you.

Spurs are not the same with Manu out, that's for sure. If they get 500 ball until he returns, that will be a bonus imo. There's just no creator out there, none.

That sucks. Take easy win at home, against Sacto, and dont give a about resting for tomorrow, until you secure a win. Pop fault, this game was a lost. Too much Bonner, too much Green.
This one is definitely on Pop. He was either looking at the big picture of getting the second unit crunch time minutes, or a miscalculated attempt to rest Duncan prematurely so he could play tomorrow. I'm not even sure Duncan played any 4th quarter minutes. Sigh..

So this wasn't a winnable game, despite the poor shooting?

Can't believe they lost after holding them to 15 points in the fourth.

No one an Spin this as anything but a game where Pop ed up hugely. Well you can I guess, but all I need to do is post a picture of RJ to refute that.

Neal, Bonner, RJ and Green are responsible for not playing your best players when you're up 4 at home with 2:30 to go...

A bit of a mirage, IMO. Sac missed more open shots than the Spurs actually played good D.

If Green hits that shot, different story. It could have gone either way, and we were down what, 15 in the 2nd and lose by 2.

Don't take too much from one game. Let's see how it looks around the break.

Tim has missed some huge putbacks at the end of games, one in Detroit that I recall for sure.
He still had his warm-ups on though.

Small ball was a genius move by Pop. Really seemed like everything went well from that point.

I can not believe we lost that ing game... There were so many plays where Tony was running the offense and he made the worst decisions... This keeps happening, we have a chance to get a comfortable lead then we it up. It happened in Orlando we just got lucky. We could of won this game, we played great D in the second half, granted we couldn't hit the side of a barn but we could have won. It was just key plays that ruined it. That's just my rant, I love Tony but this loss is his fault.

We lost by 2....? It was obviously winnable lmao.

Replace Splitter with Duncan and I think our role players still lose the game for us. I don't really see what Duncan would have done those last few minutes that Tiago wasn't doing.

Ehh, I actually thought they played with great energy and made things tough. Not amazing d, but very solid.

Despite their good 1st quarter, Sacramento is a terrible team on the road

I thought the defense was pretty damn good, but you can't just stand there and let the two hottest guys through the game shoot open jumpers at the end. Pros hit uncontested . Funny that the Spurs forget that so often.

The Spurs choose not to have a back up point guard. They picked the guy for a reason. The guy that was picked ahead of him currently gets heavy minutes on one of the best teams in the league. I expect the Spurs not to give up on a first round draft pick just because he's not Michael Jordan right out of the gate.
Who are you talking about ?

Not to mention we are without Manu and TJ who is a pretty big loss right now seeing that Tony is gassed at the end of every game here.
This is why I cant get on Parker. He played his azz off.

All in all we lost but Tiago may be building some faith with Pop. If he just could have hit that shot in the lane. Damn. We have some tools on the bench to work with. Get Manu back and TJ back and we will be fine imo.

This is how guys break into the rotation, injuries can be a blessing to the coach in a sick way.
