InsideTexas Source: DGB Race Between Texas and Missouri with Arkansas 3rd
Per IT this morning:
Early this morning I had a chance to speak with our source at Hillcrest High School, where Texas wide receiver target Dorial Green-Beckham attends. Mack Brown is expected to be in Springfield, Mo. as early as this morning.
“It’s a big day for Dorial,” said the source. “Coach Brown is expected sometime early today. This week has been a lot of fun due to all the coaches coming and going, but everyone is excited about Coach Brown being here.”
So what’s the latest as far as his recruitment goes?
“I think I underestimated Texas last week when we spoke,” the source said. “But I also think I was right on Missouri. So, gun to my head, it’s Texas and Missouri with Arkansas as a distant third. I’m sure you’ve heard now about Coach Petrino and all that. That doesn’t help their cause any. I really think it will come down to the Longhorns and Tigers.”
DGB will still take an official visit to Missouri this weekend. We’ll try to touch base with the source later today to see how Brown’s visit went.
Daje sounds like a done deal. Per Hook Em 247, Mack, Major, Harsin and Wyatt are en route to his house. TCU will not be coming by the Johnson house tonight, and have made their final sales pitch. Patterson went by Hendrickson today, but only spoke with Daje's father.
So is it safe to assume Pinkle was the one who ratted Petrino out.
Apparently not Missouri either.

I really like Kenny Hill's game. I don't think he's better than Swoopes, but if Texas were to take 2 QBs in 2013, I wouldn't mind seeing Hill as the other QB.
Per Orangebloods, Cottrell will make an official visit to Texas this weekend. It's on. Big weekend, Santos, Daje and Cottrell.
I like what I've been reading on the message boards about Texas and DGB.
Any tidbits on Mack's visit today?
Some plugged in posters said Mack and Wyatt were upbeat after the visit. There's some other positive Texas rumors out there.
I guess all we can do now is wait
Is hookem 247 working for you guys? I can't see the posts on any thread.
Hey my fellow Judson alums.....the new head coach will be announced tomorrow, probably the 5pm news. I will not give you his name, but I will tell you this, he is an offensive minded coach and he isn't coming from a San Antonio area HS.
BTW, Dodge almost became the coach, but at the last minute picked Marble Falls instead for family reasons. Gibbons, from Wagner, interviewed but he wasn't picked, as they felt it would not be appropriate to steal him from Wagner. And as we all know, Jinks declined an interview for the position, choosing to remain at Steele, where he is building a very strong program.
One last thing, look for the districts to be re-aligned this year. 25-5A will not look like it did the last two years.
ROCKET PRIDE
One last thing....thanks for all the UT recruiting info guys and gals.....I also like updates about other Texas and Big 12 schools.....HOOK EM HORNS
It's kerrville's old coach, heard it on the ticket today. People pissed soto didn't get job.
yep Kerrville Tivy's coach Bruce Smith...
I am very pleased that Soto didnt get the job....his defenses lack discipline, focus, and tackling.
From what I understand, Judson will still have a bootcamp, still do their pre-game routine, and Smith will have to keep 3 current Rockets assistants.
Yeah thanks.....I knew his last name, had trouble trying to remember his first name.
From Gerry on DGB visit --
-------
Texas head coach Mack Brown and other Longhorns assistant coaches were in Springfield, Mo. on Thursday, making their in-school visit with Dorial Green-Beckham, the nation's No. 2 overall recruit and the top-rated wide receiver.
The Longhorns remain very much in the hunt for Green-Beckham, who will decide between Texas, Arkansas and Missouri.
As previously reported, Green-Beckham's family has given its blessing if the receiver decides to sign with Texas. But while there is family support for the Longhorns, it shouldn't be considered a deciding factor.
Arkansas head coach Bobby Petrino did not make an in-home/in-school visit, and Green-Beckham's legal guardians didn't make the trip to Arkansas when the receiver took his official visit there.
The fact that both Texas and Arkansas need receivers, if anything, is a positive for both schools.
According to a source familiar with the situation, Texas' visit Thursday went "about as good as those visits can go."
I love the Mark Smith hire. Glad it wasn't Soto as well. It will be interesting to see what the offense will look like. He has so much more talent at his disposal than at Kerrville, so I don't think it will be too difficult to develop a QB.
As for DGB, I'm not feeling too confident, but I'm definitely hoping for some good news. Did Major go on the visit?
lol Texas gets first run at blue chip players from the state yet still can't win. Roll Tide es.
