Nobody makes any complicated piece of electronics without using many, many different suppliers, Apple is no different.

Not an Apple person but Apple is a good product, a great product actually, but it's overrated and overpriced and yes, a lot of people buy it for the sake of saying they own it, or having people see the Apple on their laptop. Apple was cool for a long time to people who went against the establishment that was Microsoft and the PC world, but these days Apple is the establishment and the PC is the freedom from it.
