Horry's play was dirty, tbh, but made to look a lot worse by Nash flopping like he'd been blown up by a grenade (coincidentally, if Nash doesn't flop like that, I don't think Amare gets off the bench, and the Suns go on to win that series). Hits like that happen all the time in the NBA....sometimes on moving screens which are called for a simple foul, other times on set screens which don't even draw a whistle. , that's a goddamn legal play in hockey. Horry got his two game suspension, and he probably deserved it considering the cir stances.
Compared to swinging an elbow at a guys temple for no apparent reason and dealing out a concussion, though, Horry's foul was child's play. MWP deserves at least three games due to the severity of the foul, and will likely get more considering his history.
10+ games for the elbow. A blow like that is no joke and could've done very serious damage. Since Ron's a Laker, he'll probably get 5 games, but if Stern values the image of his league, he needs to let the fans know behavior like that won't be tolerated and set an example by suspending Artest a significant amount games so that he'll miss the majority or all of the second round. Missing a few games in the first round in which the Lakers would be a massive favorite with or without Artest isn't punishment at all.
