Honestly, if a sane and logical person is going to tell you Tony Parker doesn't deserve some MVP consideration because he plays on a deep team with a solid coach, then that same person should be fair enough to tell you that Lebron James doesn't deserve it because he plays with two other superstars.

Its not the same thing. LeBron is widely considered the best player in the league despite having Wade on his team. Parker isnt considered Top 10. Therefore best player on top team can apply for the former but not the latter. Its not that hard to understand, homers. Parker deserves some consideration but you cant put him in the same category as Bron. He isnt a serious contender for the award.

Parker as an MVP candidate is absolutely a complete joke. There is no real stand-out player on this team. A case could be made that Parker is still the Spurs 3rd best player. I know for certain Duncan has been better than him this season and I know for certain I'd rather ride with him than Parker in the playoffs. He's way more important to the team. As Spurs fans, you should realize how important defense is by now. Parker plays none of it; meanwhile Duncan is still great on defense. There are 2 ends of the court.

Parker was the Final MVP during the last championship year. If the Spurs win it all, chances are he would be again. I imagine that would suit him just fine.

Parker was damn valuable early in the season when Ginobili was out and Duncan looked like he was over the hill. TP was as valuable as any player in the NBA in that stretch of games around the Rodeo Road Trip where he was carrying the team night in and night out.

Recently, with Ginobili back and Duncan playing like he turned back the clock, Parker hasn't been as valuable ... but then again it'd be foolish if he was playing the same way. He doesn't need to play like an MVP right now; his goals should be to stay healthy and keep racking up the Ws.

Tbh, I'd probably have TP ranked somewhere between 3 and 6 in the MVP race.

I tend to try not get too excited over players that have good games over short spans, but damn this kid has that IT that alot of players dont...he doesnt play timid or scared. Aside from his ability to slash to the basket Im really liking his agressiveness on defense, he doesnt give up any easy points.
