Don't be a dumbass. The refs were in his back pocket. Hate Kobe, but don't make up about MJ to support your argument.

Breathe on Kobe and he goes to the line.
MJ had to deal with hand checking.
No doubt Shaq was a lazy slob that could have been better than Prime Kareem and prime Hakeem combined. I never felt Kobe's prime was good enough to crack the top 5 though. Not in front of Snaq, Magic, Kareem, Hakeem and MJ.
jordan got yesteryear's equivalent of special treatment but back then was nothing like today in terms of pussification. jordan dealt with way more than kobe ever had to.
For real...if this reeled in a few grays down here I can only imagine the asshurt it would bring upstairs.
MJ was strong as an ox. Lesser players - and there were 100s of them - had to deal with his hand checking as well.
Again, MJ's compe ion was <<<< Kobe's current compe ion. Through it all - even in his 16th year - he's still kicking ass and taking names.
Simply put: Kobe would have kicked ass against anybody in MJ's era. From Joe Dumars to Reggie Miller...just like MJ did. Do you deny it?
How he would have done against those Pistons is questionable, they would be hacking Kobe bad.
You are blinded by the awesomeness of his supporting cast from 2004-2006. Kwame, Mihm, Smush, Luke, and inconsistent weed headed Odom. He still was a lucky as Tim Thomas 3ptr away from upsetting a stacked Suns team.
I would actually put Dream over Shaq. Why? You give Dream Kobe - and Shaq's supporting cast - and I will guarantee you more than 3 rings. Dream was a better defender (multiple DPOYs, all-time swatter IIRC), better low post moves, etc. Remember, Dream swept Shaq. Swept him! It wasn't until he teammed up with Kobe did he finally rang.
Kobe's prime was being waisted until they made the Pau trade. Kobe has proven, give him a competent supporting cast and he will give you a great chance to rang. Shaq was gifted another rang in '06. He was less than spectacular with future HOFers such as Nash and LeHype.
I'm very disappointed in Shaq. He should have been so much more. And you know what, deep down in all that girth, I believe he feels the same way. Bottom line: Kobe maximized his talent. Shaq didn't.
Agreed - because they surely beat the out of MJ.
But what about if Kobe were allowed to do it? We saw him lock down the likes of AI, Westbrook, and many other elite players without hand checking. With it? He'd win DPOY.
Just take a look at all of these great players that have had to kneel to Kobe at one time or another.
Duncan and Robinson on multiple occasions.
Kidd
Pierce KG Allen
A.I.
CP3
Deron Williams multiple times
Howard
KG in Minnesota
Nash
Durant
Pippen
Webber multiple times.
No player has ever gone through the level of compe ion that Kobe has.
Duncan and Robinson on multiple occasions. Kirb does lead the series 4-2, but Duncan's head2head playoff stats are slightly better.
Kidd
Pierce KG Allen Tied 1-1
A.I.. Besides, AI outperformed Kirby in those Finals.
CP3 CP3 outperformed Kirby
Deron Williams multiple times
Howard
KG in Minnesota KG outperformed Kirby.
Nash Nash leads Kirby 2-1 head2head.
Durant
Pippen 75 years old at the time.
Webber multiple times.
Nice joke post, luva. I had a laugh.
This is why the world hates Kobe fan. Always rewriting history. Kobe didn't lock down . AI averaged 35 points a game in that series on .407 shooting. Now I'm sure you're ready to hammer out a response citing that shooting percentage as "proof" of your bull claim, but the thing is, AI averaged .389 for that '01 playoff run, so if anything, he elevated his game against Kirby.
And lol at Kirby ever being a legitimate DPOY candidate, handchecking or not.
We need to start arguing about other players. I think these two have made it to the summit already.
Kinda noticed how this question went unanswered and was just passed over ?????

What is there to answer? repeat or not, a 'ship counts the same.
exactly. I dont either has cracked the top five but i can easily see them both hanging around 7-10. If LeBron is capable of doing what he should do, I can see both of them sliding down.
Repeats. Lol. C'mon, Ashy. You know 'ships are a team accomplishment. Asking that question is kinda like asking "how come if Kareem was so great, he couldn't win a championship with the Lakers until Magic got there?"
True but the question remains unanswered. Doesn't ask if it doesn't count or not; it asks how come Timmay could never repeat?
I'll answer why Bean missed the playoffs. Rebuilding after serious team chemistry problems and a feud with Shaquille. With that said, seems like Doc Buss made the right choice. Save a load a loot and made three more final appearances.
OK, well getting to the playoffs (2005) is a team accomplishment as well right? I mean, Bean can't get their alone especially with that crap after Odom and Butler in that brutal Western Conference. Goes hand in hand.
And you and I both know that if the Spurs had repeated in any year, you guys would be bringing that up constantly. I will say, 2000 would have been their best year if Timmay were healthy.
Of course it is.
I don't really know what you expect for an answer. Injuries, different teams getting better, etc. I mean, it's pretty obvious, but teams generally aren't static from season to season.
you're super stoopid brah

Jordan never faced a zone ????
Man Mike would love the defenses today compared to what he faced back then ...... Bad Boy Pistons > anything Kobe faces today.
The question remains unanswered is because it's a stupid question that should have an obvious answer for anyone who is a true fan of the game. When a team fails to repeat, it usually means their team wasn't good enough.
