It's funny how Diaw is filling that Horry role and then some to perfection while some got here thought that was laughable.![]()
Question is now what will he cost for the next couple of years? Pretty obvious the guy is a huge contributor.

lol wrong![]()
Diaw is just a role player fitting into a system that is working. Getting over hyped because the Spurs are winning. The Spurs could easily be winning with Jefferson still on the team . The Spurs have had an easy road through the playoffs so far playing Utah and a banged up Clipper team and Diaw is not a big difference maker that would have changed the results from wins to losses. Neither Utah nor the Clippers are as good as Memphis was last year.
Still don't believe the Spurs matched up well with the Lakers and would have been beaten had they met up with them but OK City will take care of the Lakers and the Spurs will slip past OK City in a tough 7 game series. OK City is not seasoned enough to take it all the way. It will end up being the easiest scenario for the Spurs with the injuries to the top two teams in the East. Looks like the Spurs will get their 5th and final le in the Duncan era this year.
how much will he cost next year?
Sign Diaw, Lorbek, Green and I guess Duncan
Trade Blair for some $$.
Get it done, keep this team together for at least one more year.
did you watch the games? Of course no one can say that without Diaw the Jazz would have won but to say he does not contribute and that basically the results would be the same with RJ is ludicrous.
So much wrong in that. You just bascially said that the additions of Jackson and Diaw havnt led to a deeper and overall better Spurs team.
Does Blair have any trade value at this point?
If not, I'd be fine keeping him on as the 5th or 6th big as injury insurance or just cutting him to let him get a shot at minutes somewhere else if he wants. IIRC, his contract is both cheap and non-guaranteed, so either option is practical.
Bringing back the entire same team will not win a le next year, guarantee it.
The window is now with teams weakened from injuries and the best possible matchups along the way for the Spurs. Next year will be a different league as teams make roster moves.
Well sure, but if we're fortunate enough to win out this year, I'd still love to give the guys a shot a defending the le, even if they aren't favorites. I love watching this team play, and even if someone else turns out to be better, I'd still be just fine with seeing them go down fighting unless there are moves that we can make that are clear improvements.
In all honesty Pop did an 180. Earlier in the season it looked like Bonner and Blair were his second and third bigs. That's why alot of us were concerned when Diaw was acquired. Pop made the right moves and is now playing Diaw and Splitter as second and third bigs. Given how much he overplayed Bonner in the past I don't think anyone could have assumed it was a given.
