I don't even get your logic, just ing count every ring as 1 except asterisks (1999,2012)

Wade got something MJ nor Kobe can wit: NBA playoff FTAs. 2006 anyone?
- 2006: NBA playoff record 250 FTAs is the most by a guard. Ever
- 2006: NBA playoff record 97 FTAs in a 6-game Finals. Most ever by a guard.
- 2006: NBA playoff record 75 FTMs in a 6-game Finals. Most ever by a guard.
- 2006: NBA playoff record 16 FTAs/game in a 6-game Finals.
He goes from Michael to o Jackson on his own team while still in his prime!![]()

Past his prime at 30?![]()

Kobe is 1st Team All-NBA (which means he's relevant
) at age 33. No excuses for Wade.
![]()
Which team is getting greater value?
Kobe: 27 mil
Pau: 19 mil
Wade: 17 mil
James: 17 mil
Was Wade even 2nd team all NBA? Who was 1st? Lemme check. brb.![]()
What does that award do for the Lakers? Wade and LeBron combined 34mil, Kobe? 27mil![]()
Kobe hasn't been a consistently positive presence on the floor for at least two years now. . .maybe three.
This last season he was particularly terrible. For the first time since his rookie season, he's literally had a negative impact on the game score on average throughout the season.
Kobe also posted his least efficient scoring season of his career too (worst TS% and eFG% of career), and worst offensive rating since rookie year.
He also had the 9th best defensive rating on the team (aka, he was about as good as the team scrubs on D'), and even more sad, just 8th best offensive rating on the team. . .
Anybody who still thinks this guy is a top 3-5 player needs to stop sniffing glue. The only thing Kobe does anymore is get a high PPG. His defense is meh and his scoring effenciency is as bad as it's ever been (for him).
Kobe's still good. . .but he's no longer worthy of being called an elite player or a centerpiece of a team unless all you're looking for is ticket sales.
I said this two years ago and I'm going to stick by it. The Lakers will not win a le as long as Kobe is still on the team. His positives do not outweigh his negatives anymore (ball hogging, chucking too much late in games, not setting up teammates enough, trying to always take the last shot to hog all the glory as opposed to passing to an open teammate).
Kobe Bryant: He's had a great career, but now he's just a stat factory like Monta Ellis.
LBJ, MVP & finals MVP
Kobe, still mentioned the most on this board
That's why he's so valuable to the Laker franchise, he can score 5ppg @ 10% and still be one of the most popular players in the league. Pretty sad tbh![]()
You asked if he was relevant. I took a on that take by posting many accolades that Kobe has accomplished (including NBA records that Wade won't break). I even stated that just this year, Kobe was 1st team All NBA and 1st teall All NBA defense. This trumps Wade and makes Wade irrelevant.
Then, grasping at straws, you resort to salary smack. STAPLES seats 18,997 per game (more when we play the Clippers). How many of them are Kobe fans? Even if it were only 10,000 "Kobe fans" that pay good money to see him perform, that's well-worth the $27M he's paid. And that's not mentioning concessions, jersey and shoe sales, commercials, etc. Kobe is idolized by SoCal. Even during the ty 2006 season, he was the reason why STAPLES sold out on many of the 41 home games. In other words, he's worth every penny. I think Kool even posted that he generates million$ (literally) for Dr. Buss. He's still Dr. Buss' cash cow. Even in his 16th year, he brought the goods.
Fact is, Wade couldn't hold Kobe's jockstrap without FTAs. He is by far the most overrated "superstar" in NBA history. He was only gifted a ring because of Shaq in 2006. 6 years later, Bron gifted him one this year.![]()
Wade landed LeBron and Bosh on the Heat, that alone should get the man paid. At 17mil is still a better deal than Kobe's 27. Especially better than Pau Gasol at 19. Comparing Wade to Kobe when LeBron plays for the Heat is clearly reaching.![]()

Yes he's relevant. He's poised to be the thing that stops the Lakers from contending next season. I would say that's highly relevant given the history of that franchise. Most often other teams cannot stop them. This time they will stop themselves.
Let's just call a spade a spade. Kirby for his career has been nothing but a self absorbed cot tailing ball hogging chucker. The myth, folklore and youtube videos have given Kirby some kind of pseudo basketball messiah status amongst those in his cult. But the fact remains that this guys has never been nothing more than a glorified TMAC, VC, Joe johnson, Gilbert Arenas....etc....in other words for all his scoring he's nothing special really...he's redundant.
South Beach or Cleveland was the decision. Not necessarily to go play with Wade.
If I were Riles, I'd trade Wade's sorry ass. He's already in decline. It's Bron's team. They've proven the Bron/Bosh is a formidable tandem based on the record you guys had with Wade out of the lineup. Bron and Wade are the same player. One is younger, faster, stronger, better hoops IQ.
Wade could probably get you guys Matt Bonner in a trade. Do it RC.
And stop reaching about salary. That's re ed. We all know players that didn't make during their first couple of seasons raped their teams in their latter years - even if their production dipped. I guess TD wasn't worth $20M to the the Spurs. MJ wasn't worth $30M to the Bulls. Etc. Etc.
Fact: Wade isn't as good as the referees make him out to be. Neal with it.
Fact: Wade was a big part of the championship run and was the only reason LeBron ended up in Miami. At this point, Wade is more efficient, a better defender and basically half the price of Kobe. Regardless of all that, the Heat are LeBron's team now and he's miles better than Kobe and his salary doesn't kill the team. Lakers are because of Kobe. Come on Lkr , you're building a team right now. Who do you take LeBron or Kobe? 17 Or 27?
my man ace with the goods, wade is miles better than kobe at this point and has been since 2005 or 2006. even if just for his defense only, he's still better than kobe today. kobe doesn't play any defense despite what the media says![]()
That "analysis" is really the hype I'm talking about. Kobe was never better outside shooter than LeBron, was never better in the clutch, nor it was ever that unstoppable. If what they spoke were the true Kobe would have won the MVP that season but it was just impossible to deny LeBron was better. And no one would think about Shaq and Gasol/Bynum/Odom carrying Kobe to the championships if there weren't some true in there.
LeBron had all the pressure on him, he and Kobe competed for the MVP, his rival scored 60. No one wanted LeBron to have a better game few days later, it was about selling Kobe as MJ 2.0. The media picked which Kobe's game to hype - after he scored 60. LeBron had no options but to better that, 3 days later in the same place.
Kobe's desire to win, skill set, and his work ethics alone separates him from "Tmac, VC, Joe Johnson, Arenas." Some of those guys have loser mentalities.
But you're right about him being a ball hogging chucker sometimes.![]()
It's easier to have a desire to win when you land on the Lakers with Phil Jackson and prime Shaq.
Try having that same desire with a broken footed Yao, Amare or Caron Butler as your stars.
