What if we had the old AFL, or an 8 team league? Who would be the starters?

Philip Rivers is even worse, he threw 20 INT's to finish 3rd in the league, which is something no elite QB does.

He also played hurt all season, plus Brees threw 22 interceptions in 2010 yet is still called an elite QB.....

Aside from that, Rivers' career passer rating is still third-best all-time behind only Rodgers and Young, has led the league in YPA and adjusted YPA multiple times, led the league in passing yards the season before last, and holds the NFL record for most passing yards through the first eight games of the season.... anyone claiming that Rivers isn't elite clearly needs to check his stats, tbh...

Although I'm extremely biased, I have Elway right behind Montana. Elway single handidly willed some awful teams to a lot of winning seasons prior to getting an elite team and just steam rolling the NFL for 2 years.

You can't have Alex Smith going 1/13 on 3rd down (with that 1 conversion being the final play when the Giants played everyone deep), and expect to win. QB/WR are what you need on O in today's game. If Elite Manning didn't step up the way he did with all those injuries, Giants would have been out of the playoff race in December. Game managing QB's don't work in today's game.

Didn't Tebow make it to the championship game? Lee Evans catches that pass the Ravens win the game. Alex Smith did beat Eli last season and if the fumbler hadn't gave the game away he probably beats him again.

The fact is Lee Evans DIDNT make the ing catch and Williams fumbled like a choking pussy. So shut the up and get over it. Alex smith is nothing more than a game manager and going 1/13 in the ing NFC CHAMPIONSHIP game is not going to get it done. Dude has been a underachieving scrub his entire career and next season will be no different.

Marino was 59.4 and Favre was 62.

So really not enough of a difference to justify the argument. Plus, Favre played a chunk of his career in the "pass happy" era, Marino retired before that. Thus making Marino's career numbers all the more impressive.

Oh, and Marino was pretty much exclusively on a ty team too.
