You really do need to work on those comprehension skills.
Stats like passer rating and completion % are misleading.
I mean he's not going to throw a lot of ints when he's not asked to make big time NFL throws. 3100 yards for an NFL Qb is not good. There are at the very least 18 qb's I would rather have if I needed to win one game, and that's not even including luck and rg3 who quite frankly would give me more confidence than smith despite not seeing them play in the league yet.

You said he was a top 16 quarterback, implying he was in the "good" half of NFL quarterbacks.... in his best year ever, he was barely mediocre, and he has been utter during the entire rest of his career.... he is not a good starting QB, period, give it up.....

The point is the Niners are on the brink of something big ,your ty ass Cowboys aren't.
Completely due to their top-10 defense in the league, which is also 3rd in DVOA and weighted defense....
Here's a couple more embarrassing stats....
San Francisco's offense was 16th in the league in variance last year, meaning that Smith led a very inconsistent offense....
SF was 23rd in yards per drive and led the league in turnovers per drive....
Again, in Smith's BEST season, he was mediocre and inefficient and the offense he led was inefficient, inconsistent, and turnover-prone..... just goes to show that no matter the sample size, he isn't a good quarterback... get over it, B....

Right now Alex Smith is finally finding himself, he will have the best receivering corp he's had. Like Jaworski said (believe it or not he knows far more about NFL QBing than you do) and I agree Smith is right there in the middle. Hardly a great QB, hardly a bad QB, he's a good QB.

Not much, I have to admit... except Alex Smith. I will say that stable of receivers is as good as it's been since at least 98', imo (Stokes/T.O./Rice)
Also, looks like Delanie will definitely be back from injury and ready to go...very good news. That guy does just about everything well and always plays hard.

I've got at least 10-6...losses to Green Bay, New England, and New Orleans on the road. maybe even the Jets since those long east coast trips are tough as . Then one more at home to either the Giants/Lions/Bears...maybe 2 of those teams. 11 is doable too.
This schedule is so much more difficult than last year. Thank goodness the division sucks balls
We have that rare three game home stand then a rare Thurs then Mon games. Great position to be in.
