Middle of the pack is all I've ever said.
You really do need to work on those comprehension skills.
Stats like passer rating and completion % are misleading.
I mean he's not going to throw a lot of ints when he's not asked to make big time NFL throws. 3100 yards for an NFL Qb is not good. There are at the very least 18 qb's I would rather have if I needed to win one game, and that's not even including luck and rg3 who quite frankly would give me more confidence than smith despite not seeing them play in the league yet.
Middle of the pack is all I've ever said.
You really do need to work on those comprehension skills.
Now you're getting ridiculous.
You said he was a top 16 quarterback, implying he was in the "good" half of NFL quarterbacks.... in his best year ever, he was barely mediocre, and he has been utter during the entire rest of his career.... he is not a good starting QB, period, give it up.....
Yeah, only 18 QB's being ahead of Smith might even be generous, tbh....
Top 10 in completion %
Top 10 in QB rating
Number 1 in INT%
One game away from a SB
You are geyond stupid.
Check out them Niners.
Number one punter
Number one FG kicker
Number 3 rusher in the NFC
One of the elite TE's
Carlos Rogers stud DB
Number 3 kick returner in the NFC
Patrick Willis stud backer
Pro bowl lineman
Alton Smith one of the top pass rushers
Top ranked defense
Hall of Famer to be receiver
Wow!~
16th ranked QB

Trying to prove that a scrub quarterback is good by listing all the talent that's carrying his ass
The stats say differently.
And you lost to my ty ass Cowboys...what's your point?
The point is the Niners are on the brink of something big ,your ty ass Cowboys aren't.
Completely due to their top-10 defense in the league, which is also 3rd in DVOA and weighted defense....
Here's a couple more embarrassing stats....
San Francisco's offense was 16th in the league in variance last year, meaning that Smith led a very inconsistent offense....
SF was 23rd in yards per drive and led the league in turnovers per drive....
Again, in Smith's BEST season, he was mediocre and inefficient and the offense he led was inefficient, inconsistent, and turnover-prone..... just goes to show that no matter the sample size, he isn't a good quarterback... get over it, B....
It was fun kicking around you showing eveyone just how totally ed up you really are. But now Im getting bored with you. So this will be the final say on this, as usual your comeback will suck and won't be read so don't bother
Right now Alex Smith is finally finding himself, he will have the best receivering corp he's had. Like Jaworski said (believe it or not he knows far more about NFL QBing than you do) and I agree Smith is right there in the middle. Hardly a great QB, hardly a bad QB, he's a good QB.
See how you work, the Niners have a top 10 defense? How about one of the top 3?
Ok man once again talking at you is like going to the dentist, a total downer. You're too stupid to be entertaining and to uncreative to pose a challenge, yep a waste of time.
So it's come to this, if I ever respond to you again I'm gone for good. You make it too obvious that if I gave you a brand new 100 dollar bill you'd find something wrong with it. You just have some need to bug me.
Good bye~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So in other words, you have no response to my stats other than to keep leg-humping Jaworski's list and insisting that Alex Smith is good.... I win, you have a ful take, end of story, B...![]()
Moss "Great character, good heart" http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcwest/post...ter-good-heart
Doesn't it always start out this way?
Let's see...
So so QB
Great stable of backs in..
Frank Gore
Brandon Jacobs
LaMichael James
Kendall Hunter
Anthony Dixon
Rock Cartwright
Great TE...Vernon Davis and Delanie Walker
All kinds of diverse talent at receiver...
Michael Crabtree
Marion Manningham
Randy Moss with his big heart
A.J Jenkins..zoom!
Kyle Williams
Chris Owusu...zoom!
Brian Tyms...SWAC stud
Solid o line
Monster D!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Best special teams in the league.
What's not to like?
Not much, I have to admit... except Alex Smith. I will say that stable of receivers is as good as it's been since at least 98', imo (Stokes/T.O./Rice)
Also, looks like Delanie will definitely be back from injury and ready to go...very good news. That guy does just about everything well and always plays hard.
You just answered your own question.![]()
Okay Avante...look at the schedule and tell me what you think the record will be
I've got at least 10-6...losses to Green Bay, New England, and New Orleans on the road. maybe even the Jets since those long east coast trips are tough as . Then one more at home to either the Giants/Lions/Bears...maybe 2 of those teams. 11 is doable too.
This schedule is so much more difficult than last year. Thank goodness the division sucks balls
We have that rare three game home stand then a rare Thurs then Mon games. Great position to be in.
We'll go 7-1 at home. We'll blow a game.
On the road...4-4 maybe 5-3. So in an attempt to not be a homer...11-5
It's a bummer starting off in GB but I do pity Detroit the following week in SF. Good teams coming off a loss back at home....gold!!!!!!!
Hit the newstands, grab ya a few of those football mags, tell me what you see.
Smith has what offensive coordinator Greg Roman calls a "unique" ability to grasp a game's dynamics in real time for the purposes of managing risks. On the surface, that sounds like a creative way to avoid slapping the dreaded "game manager" label on a quarterback with limited skills. The 49ers don't see it that way at all. They think Smith has demonstrated all the intangibles great quarterbacks should possess: mental and physical toughness; an off-the-charts football IQ; a level head no matter the cir stances; a passion for preparation; and the ability to perform in the clutch. They see him leading an offense that wasn't as bad as advertised, one that should only get better. http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcwest/post...ential-49ers-2

Patrick Willis will go down as the best MLB ever.
That is a strong statement. hope you're right
Guy had it realy rough growing up, his dad was a crazy man.
Not trying to be a homer but this Niner D is special.
Now we will see a team without an elite QB win in the NFL in todays game. You win the turnover battle, you give up less than 20 points, you play solid special teams you can not only win but prosper.
A middle of the pack QB in the Superbowl, thanks to a solid running game, a monster D and the best special teams in the league.
Yes todays NFL is about throwing the ball. The Niner will be the exception.
