Also, the "trade" threads involving bonner, blair, and Neal really need to stop. Its a waste of thread space. The Spurs are stuck with Bonner(its their own fault) and Blair. Neal I can deal with.
I dont see how a guy thats good for no more than 10-15min/game is going to put this team over the hump? Not happening nor would the Spurs be "stacked" if they did acquire Kenyon(I hope the comment above was a joke). We had our best chance last year to win again..they folded to the Thunder- with the league set on its stars the Spurs are going to be left out in the cold-

Blair they could get rid of if they wanted, his contract isn't guaranteed, and GSW said they were interested in him just not for the 1st round pick the Spurs are asking for.
As for Bonner, no team is taking him unless its part of a bigger deal to match salaries.
They want to get rid of Blair, but the problem is nobody has offered them anything...Hmmm?
They could waive him for nothing if they really wanted him gone. Hence the non-guaranteed contract.
And no one said the Spurs hadn't been offered anything for him, they just weren't offered the 1st rounder they were asking for. At this point, given his contract, hes worth more to the Spurs as a regular season minutes eater than clearing him for a roster spot for a mystery minimum big-man the Spurs seem to be pursuing each off-season.
Spurs should be going balls to the wall for this guy. Unless they have some trade in mind to acquire another big, I have no idea what the hesitation is for. I'm really surprised K-Mart is still on the open market. Is he holding out for more money or something?

"If someone calls me tomorrow, I don't care who it is, whether it's losing or winning at this point," Martin said. "If someone calls me tomorrow and wants me to come in, I'm going.
Even though he's 3 years older, I'd prefer McDyess. He not only knows the system, but he's a better mid range shooter (though a more proven mid range shooter than Blair, if Pop still doesn't feel comfortable playing Blair next to Splitter, then he probably won't feel comfortable playing Martin next to Splitter, either) and rebounder. Martin's a better defender, but not by enough of a margin to outweigh everything else.
That being said, they should attempt to secure a commitment quickly from McDyess, because the chances of Martin being snatched up increase by the day. All it takes is one injury or for one player to under perform for someone to turn to him.
Spurs are a contender because of chemistry, I imagine they are worried Martin will ruin that. As far as talent though, we should at least give him the minimum. Can always waive him
wtf I thought he was being picky. If that quote is true, grab him and McDyess. Trade away Blair for a pick to open up a roster spot. Do the Spurs really think he would be a bad fit? Maybe Pop has talked to De Negro about him? I thought it was Martin not wanting to sign with us for the minimum. It sems like it is the Spurs that aren't interested, why would that be you think?
his inconsistently offensively when shooting the ball, but defense, rebound...maybe setting hard screens will be welcome on this team...
Spurs need a defensive minded bruiser, K-Mart fits the mould & the Spurs can cut Blair since he's on a unguaranteed contract till January.
The question is, why haven't the Spurs contacted Martin if he is desperate for a job like that quote makes it seem like he is?
It sounds like the Spurs aren't interested, so why would that be? Is it character issues that they have concerns with? That shouldn't be a problem with this team, so it must be basketball reasons? Do they think that he wouldn't fit on the team basketball wise? Does he have a low Bball IQ?
If Martin wants to know why he's not signed, the first thing he needs to do is stop sending mixed messages.

OK, that explains it. What a freaking tool.
It's pretty clear that he wanted more than the min from day 1. Otherwise, I am sure SA would consider him.
This will never happen after last season when he had his chance and NO the Spurs will not cut Blair!
What's the point of having Blair if Pop is not going to play him?
He would be a near perfect fit skillwise off the bench, but I wouldn't hold my breath. I imagine he's looking for a bigger, more guaranteed role.
I think he wants playing time on a contender and out of those teams (Heat, Thunder, Spurs and maybe Lakers) San Antonio might be the one that could give him the most amount of time on the court. He may even crack a starting role.
The Spurs won't guarantee him playing time under any cir stances, and I'm sure they aren't going to offer more than the minimum. I'm sure they've gone ahead and called him, but I'm equally sure he knew all this ahead of time and wasn't even entertaining the idea.
What? He would be at least our third best big at the moment he is in black&silver. He could even find him as a 4th quater closer in a team where the goal is nothing less than the trophy, and they have a LEGIT chance. Could he ask for anything more?

That situation is making my brain explodes, either Kenyon is lying or the FO is dropping the ball.
He's not only playing but starting and thats the point of having him.
