UTSA isn't in the same class as UTEP. Even if you use those Hispanic rankings, UTEP engineering is higher.
O yeah, I know what you mean. I was fine with my Bio degree at UTSA. Its not like I couldn't compete with all the UT and A&M grads when I got into dental school. This final year of dental school, I ended up dating a first year who went to undergrad at U-Miami, which is clearly a much better school, but I had to help her so much because she struggled with the hard sciences.
Honestly though, Pre-Dental (and even Pre-Med to an extent) is an entirely different beast since undergrad is treated as just a place for pre-reqs. Better schools obviously look great on applications, but I've known people from UTSA and even crappier schools like UH-Clear Lake getting into places like Harvard Dental, etc.
Can't speak on other people's post-graduation experience from UTSA cuz I have no idea. My ex-roommate is an engineer and apparently he's doing just fine. Not a baller by any means, but he's feeding his family.

tbh, the only way you're getting a semi-decent job (in Texas) in this market is by either joining a firm that has a family member as a partner, or by going to UT-Law. Law school = high school 2.0 though; be ready for that.
I thought Baylor is touted pretty highly as well?
UT grads get first dibs at the big jobs, and you don't have to be top 10%. Baylor is strong in its own right (and I actually think its grads are more "courtroom ready" when they finish school), but it doesn't have the UT pedigree, requiring you to do really well to sniff those big law jobs statewide. Baylor is a strong choice if you're looking to stay in the Dallas area tho.
Its pretty hard getting a job (one that you would like at least) right now huh? My ex's sister hated working for the Texas Supreme Court so she moved to Houston and is jobless as of right now since all the available ones were apparently. And she went to U-Miami. Not a bad school.
I graduated in 08. Market for lawyers was beginning to experience its downturn (had some friends who had summered at the V&Es and Fulbrights and ended up not getting offers whereas before it was pretty much a lock to stay with those firms following graduation). My wife graduated from another law school last year and really had to hustle to find a job even though she was top 5% at her school.
Studying in an Asian university where as I've read from the thread is different form the American college system, I'm curious how the SAT tests work. Is there like a minimum SAT score for each university? And if so, how are the SAT tests graded?
Damn that sucks ass. I feel fortunate that I can pretty much get a job anywhere with my profession. Dentists in general are getting old and are ready to get bought out. Worst case scenario, I can work in a clinic situation.
Its just a standardized test. The higher you get, the better chance you have of getting accepted to better schools.
Dude shut up! What do you know about education?![]()
I can't help but wonder how ChrisRichards wasn't aborted.

Can't speak for predents but getting into schools like Harvard medical school ain't so easy. While performances in undergrad, MCAT, and shadowing are very important, research is gradually becoming a must for applicants, especially if those applicants are considering matriculating into upper tier schools. As such, one thing I've noticed between all the prehealth professions is that research is highly recommended for premeds, especially if one is aiming to matriculate into schools like John Hopkins and Stanford. All the upper and some mid-tier medical schools compete with each other in that area...something I am for and against for various reasons but that's a totally different discussion altogether.
Jag be eatin those Rice and Adobo's.![]()
Why? I have won more money than I have lost (even with the welshing).

I would never bash someone for not willing to make a 180 mile commute or for not working enough during college tbh. I am a much more likeable person than him imo.
Its called being reasonable, not making excuses. And hardly anyone argues with me here its only angry little guys like you that do that.
UTSA psychology for undergrad, UTD cognition/neuroscience for PhD.
You are the Shemale porn guy. The only way to escape that is to stop acting like a tool, talking basketball and just admitting it was really stupid to do that. We'll see if you have that in you.
