if we trade jackson and then he gets bought out, could we re-sign him or did the league make a rule to stop that from happening? i can't remember.

With Sjax salary the only big men out their in perhaps a multi team scenario that might make a splash is Josh Smith and Amare.
I won't speculate on names Spurs could target because these are just wild speculations but Jackson $10M expiring contract is a relatively nice trade asset. Spurs could too have some trade talks including Bonner and have auditioned T-Mac as a possible stretch PF.

Now the rule is that you have to wait a year before signing that player again.

Unless we get a killer return on a Jax trade, FO would be stupid to trade him.

thanks. it used to just be a month iirc. i love jackson and what he brings to the team, i wouldn't like to see him go... but if that's what it takes to get significantly better at the 4, then i guess it's what we'll have to do.

Spurs working out TMac also shows that Spurs' situation is a little more complicate than the "we love our team" said by RC and Pop back in July. You don't bring a player with TMac past to a workout without a serious intend of signing him. Spurs FO is still trying to improve the team and I wouldn't be surprised to see a trade happening between now and the start of the training camp.
Yeah, I was thinking this too. Brown, Kapono, etc. can be passed off as due diligence/potential camp fodder, but even at this point in his career, you don't bring a name of McGrady's magnitude in unless you're serious. And as has been said by others, there's only reason to believe they'd be serious if they're making a trade. It doesn't necessarily have to involve Jackson, either. As you alluded to, it could be Bonner. It could also be Neal.

Even though I said yesterday that I didn't want him, if they traded Neal and didn't get a perimeter player back, then having him as the 11th-12th man couldn't hurt. He may not be what they need, but even in the state he's in, from a sheer talent standpoint, they could do worse for a fifth wing. Plus, he'd provide another small ball PF option.

If come trade deadline spurs are in the 6-8 seed, they be stupid NOT to trade Jax. It's too good a peice. Plus given iur trackrecord with unreatricted free agents, it would sure up some decent parts while avoiding overpaying to lure a free agent in the summer.

In this respect I think TMac makes sense.

we are all forgetting how much of a better passer T-Mac is than S-Jax. Two things we need in this team are: passing (because Tony can't do it all himself, and Manu's injuries set back ball rotation) and rebounding. T-Mac can fill the passing void.

My point is that it better be a near homerun of a trade to get rid of Jax, who was the only one playing to win towards the end of the OKC series. He plays much much better D than JHo or TMac and can hit that 3 with regularity.

    13 points in 35 seconds

    LMAO that was devastating
If he could continue this kind of scoring it would be worth it.

    13pts in 35 seconds

thats approx. 26pts in every minute.

could easily avg. 780pts a game if he plays about 30 minutes.

I don't even know if he can be yet, usually you have wait so many months after signing a new contract, not up to par on CBA.

** ESPN Trade Machine lists his trade restriction to Jan 15, 2013

3 months or December 15, whichever is later.

    When did he sign ?

I don't think he is talking about a trade tbh.

Sign him! Poetic justice. Either he gets a ring or Spurs do not advance past the first round lol.
