Hmmmm, the Spurs give a training camp berth to Curry who is unlikely to go anywhere, and who doesn't have the skillset we need anyway (ie. defense), but completely ignore Kenyon Martin who could actually help the team? I guess K-Mart is seen as too much of a cancer.

How do you know the Spurs ignored him? You're just making ceap up to fit your cynical argument. Maybe they did and he rebuffed them. Who knows. But to just assume one thing to fit your narrative is assinine.

Umm... maybe it's because K-Mart isn't willing to accept the veteran's minimum. Why do you think he hasn't signed anywhere yet?

Yes, the Bills were winners before I arrived

Stick to your ty takes and predictions, b/c smack talk is definitely not your forte
I give you about a 1 on that comeback. There's a difference between smack talk and real talk. I suggest you take off your clown shoes and wake up to the fact that any team with RF as a number 1 option will be stuck in mediocrity for the life of his pathetic existence. Enjoy the weekly bus ride to the ralph. Should be a gay old time. Bring a book.

Eddy Curry's reputation has never been that of a tough (physically or mentally) player.

I just want to see a lineup of the tripple blob towers

Pop (to Eddy Curry): Be ready, Eddy. Manu likes to put mus on his passes.

Eddy: Not a problem, coach. I like mus .

the more I look at this the more I like it. hilarious or not we now have the size we've been yearning years for. it just happens to be wide as well as tall.

Fesenko/Blatche couldn't have been THAT much better signings. we can still go after them if Chicken Curry doesn't work out.

if you don't think this can help us for 10-15 minutes a night, watch Game 6 vs OKC again.

Yeah Kori Ellis what's the Eddie Curry story?

Can't leave ST out in the cold like that.
It might only be funny to us ( timvp and I).

Long ago -- maybe 2006? -- I had written an article about the Spurs and I had recapped some news from other sites. One news item being that the Chicago Tribune said that the Spurs were looking at Curry at the time.

A few days after I wrote that article, someone in the Spurs organization came up to me and said, "Did you say the Spurs are considering signing Eddy Curry?" The rest of the conversation went something like this:

Me: Not exactly. I said that the Chicago Tribune said that. I was just rounding up Spurs related news.
Him: Oh okay. I didn't read it myself. Someone told me that you wrote it and I was thinking, "Really? Eddy Curry."
    Me: (pause)
Him: There is no way the Spurs would look at Eddy Curry? Eddy Curry? You think that Pop would actually deal with a guy with that kind of work ethic? No way.
Me: Like I said, I didn't write it. The Chicago Tribune did.
Him: Well there's no way that the Spurs would even consider signing Eddy Curry.

That being said... most people remember about the shady gay sexual harassment lawsuit against Curry, but we should also remember that he went through something horrible when his ex-girlfriend and 10-month-old baby got murdered. His other son was only 3 at the time and witnessed the whole thing. What a horrendous tragedy.

Anyway, I doubt he sticks on the Spurs, but stranger things have happened. I wonder what the situation is with his heart these days.

It's funny how more attractive Eddy Curry is when you can get him for nothing.

at this point...i take eddy curry over blair, for the soul reason his a big and clogs up the lane, can score down low, problem will be defense and rebound which can be solved as long he puts effort into attempting to block shots or have both active hands forcing players into bad shot selections; and better positioning.....something blair use to be good at untill players started to shoot over him due to his lack of height...

low risk high return signing if he makes the roster, will probably be offered the minimum or vet deal...which is what blair is on, who will be looking for a pay increase in a contract year.....

Sorry to hear the tragic thing. Hope Eddie finds some comfort in the basketball (and I'm not inferring that he plays well for the Spurs.)

I don't see it personally. I could go jack the neighbor's trashbag on pickup day for free, dump it on the porch and see what I got, but I'm just going to make a mess with nothing of value to show for it.

I think this is a huge waste of the Spurs' time. They should be spending this time trying to find someone better, or spend it convincing Kenyon Martin to play here. Yes, there's "a chance" Curry will turn out okay. . .maybe.. But I don't agree that it's even 5%. Blair is already basically the best we could hope to get out of Eddy Curry, and he is sort of improving still (not getting any taller though).

Meanwhile, Eddy Curry has played a grand total of 157 minutes in the NBA over the last FOUR years. In other words, five games worth of minutes. In four years. Before that he was fat and one dimensional. We're talking about a 7 footer who's best rebounding season was 7.0 per game. . .in a 35 minute per game season. He's managed a block a game one season in his early years, and has never averaged a full assist per game. Curry's ceiling is like Blair's current floor.

Curry can toss the ball into the basket and that's it. Blair can do that. Curry can't defend, can't rebound, can't pass. Probably can't run very well either. Blair can at least rebound very well along with the scoring, and is a better passer too. Defense probably isn't any worse either as Blair's at least been playing in the NBA.

Don't let his career FG% fool you. . .this guy is NOT a good "player". He used to be able to score. That's all. And we already just had the best offense in the NBA, and a top 3 the year before that.

I watched Curry play for the Bulls for years and he wasn't very good. They were always talking about his "upside", and he never got better! That's why they let him go and why Knicks fans still consider him to be one of the worst players (in comparison to contract) that they've ever had.

I honestly would have preferred we signed some random junk 7 footer like Hasheem Thabeet, or just said it and tried to get Martin who's the only actual available big left that would significantly help. . . or have made a legitimate effort at getting Andray Blatche who's established as being better than Eddie Curry's current ceiling is. Curry can't be any less of a cancer than those two, especially considering how much better those other two are.

I feel like we're playing moneyball despite Holt getting plenty of surplus earnings from the last few seasons.

With Blair, Boris, and Curry. Spurs are going to need to buy a another Charter plane just for these 3. If I was the Spur's team airline poilet I would be getting pretty nervous...

That, ladies and gentlemen, is why the Spurs don't sign most of the players you want them to. Andray Blatche comes to mind.
