Guess the Spurs weren't that interested after all.
Is there any possibility of the Spurs signing T-Mac if they trade Jax at the deadline? I know all those Nuggets that played in China were able to sign near the end of last season. I only ask because it's one potential reason the Spurs would take a look at him.
You are part of the cult that thinks Jax 'can hit the 3 with regularity" He can't. He average as a 3 pt shooter is not good for his career nor for th last few years. Last three years % are .288, .278 and .306. which is not good at all for a SG/SF.
Last year, when the Spurs were the top 3 pt team with a team average of .39%, the only players that shot a worse average were TP, Cory Joseph, James Anderson and TJ Ford. Ford and Joseph didn't attempt many and I exclude Blair and TD who didn't shoot any in 5 attempts between them. Even the muich maligned Richard Jefferson hit at a .421 clip on 190 attempts.
Mostly because he was relied on as the first option. Jackson's not suited for that role. I think his 3p% went way up when he got traded to SA.
Horry Jr. tbh. Limit his minutes and turn him loose in the playoffs. We have enough "regular season" players to fill the gaps until April.
What you (and many others) fail to realize is that people can and do adapt to different situations. Many players have come to the Spurs and adapted well, contrary to what people thought - take Jackson for example. Human behavior is a product of dynamic interaction with the surrounding context. In other words, part of who you are is defined by your surrounding teammates. One player will be different on different teams. People aren't as static as you think.

Well, why not replace all of Bonner's minutes with Jax's in the playoffs? IIRC he shot something like 50+%/60+/90% in the 2012 postseason.

He'll likely be one of the most popular players every to play there. I'm sure China still loves him from the Yao years on the Rockets.
And what you fail to realize is that this is not about adapting to different situations; it's about not being a fit for the type of role he'd have to play on this team (even if he did have a good at ude).
The thing about Jackson is, he established himself in the league as a prototypical 3D role player and is known for being a great (or at least, very good) compe or and teammate. Plus, he's got a prior history with the Spurs. So the transition was largely seamless for him.
man this clown has the skillset to be still playing in the nba somewhere off the bench, ur telling me his not better than the 6th man down to the 13th man on the roster, his clowning around in the CBA puttin up some nice stats this season on no effort with a league of scrubs who looks like playin no defense...
i think the spurs could use him as a point forward, a lengthy big with long arms and height who can shoot and handle the ball, could care less about his defense since bench players dont even play any defense in the nba...ur telling me his not better than bonner, blair, mills, de colo, neal? ...i think his a slight improvement over green offensively....the way he shoots and shot selection is just beautiful to watch, so effortless...
Why even sign De Colo when you have Mills an Neal an your in need of a big or a stretch 4!?! Mr. Cross Eyed is waaaaay better than either one of them. I sit an think of the game McGrady came back an won by himself against us.
Yeah I remember that game as if it were yesterday...I was sure we had that game in the Bag?..But at this point anything will help with our two SF being out due to injury..They are a BIG part of what we do and without them we are giving up atleast 15 pts a night

Well he's old and busted, so he does fit the Spurs system.
He had his moments even last year, but ugh.
They'll bring him in, he'll list his medical history and they'll all laugh, smoke a cigar and sign him up.. 2 minutes later he'll have fractured something in the parking lot... So is the spurs destiny.

McGrady can't play in a system, tbh..he's a high usage player that no longer has the athletic ability or talent to justify the amount of touches he needs..
Shoot, the Spurs will call Michael Jordan to see if he was serious about a comeback.

That would be playing with fire. You don't really want to test McGrady's ability to not get out of the first round.
