Deron Williams dismissed reports suggesting he quit on Avery Johnson before his firing.
Williams sat out Johnson's final game as head coach of the Brooklyn Nets.
“I feel if I would have played better, as a player, that we would have won a lot more games and he would still be here,” Williams said Friday morning. “As far as that’s concerned, I feel responsible.”
Williams and Avery Johnson had a strained relationship from the moment Williams arrived, according to people both inside and outside the organization.

if you look at his track record, Avery has done pretty bad coaching PG's Devin Harris played for him twice and was traded twice for new ones, Kidd got him fired, and now supposedly Deron got him fired. If Avery is as good of coach as everyone says then he will get another coach, because we all know at one point down the line a coach will get fired.

I find it funny people call Deron a coach killer, at least till all the facts come out for this he isn't. Deron himself has admitted he has played like . King and Avery both said don't blame Deron, this firing I think was more of all the team, not just one player. Of course I could be wrong, we all know players, coaches, and GM's in the NBA are great liers

D. Will is the on court leader. If the team is turning on the coach, it's his job to get them back in line. When they don't do that, coach loses the team.

Avery had virtually no power as a head coach. It was his fault for agreeing to a contract that pretty much made him the scapegoat with no real power to build a team.

and the irony is that he played PG himself when he was playing professional basketball but doesn't know how to use his PGs
