If it were to happen it would be a major coup for the Democrats. Christie and Ryan were the two GOP golden boys as recently as a year ago. If Christie were to defect it would be a huge blow to the credibility and viability of the GOP.

Romney and McCain did what was needed to do in order to become acceptable to Jeebo s (and they were both the result of other Jeebo s knocking each other out) by changing whatever their views were on certain issues. They needed to temporarily shed their image of "moderate Repulbican" and did so largely by selling out to the GOP, and I don't see Christie doing that. I think the whole Sandy situation put a bad taste in Christie's mouth about tea party politics and where the GOP is headed and he wants no part of it.

Romney and McCain won their primary largely because of a perfect storm. McCain won because Romney and Huckabee split the far right wing vote . In 2012 Romney basically became the Jeebo candidate 1) because the other candidates were so bad that people like Koch and Adelson figured out Romney was their only chance at beating Obama and 2) by selling out to Tea Party groups like FreedomWorks that started to feed its shills propaganda about how Romney wanted small government and family values. I don't see Christie abandoning his dignity and personal views the way Romney did to get Tea Party/Jeebo support. I think he loves New Jersey and the people of New Jersey too much to start pandering to the same people who wanted to cut New Jersey off after Hurricane Sandy.

Romney and McCain both tried to butter up to the jeebo s, but that was after they had pretty much clinched the nomination. I don't see Christie doing that either, and frankly I think that would help him in the general election because I really think that the jeebo s scare off more poeple than they bring.

I'm aware of that, I asked "blue text" because that report from Tagg was total bull . Romney wanted to be president as much as anyone ever has and it was obvious to anyone paying attention to the election.

Yep, those kids probably begged their parents to write those letters. Probably begged to put on suit and tie as well.

Sure and I imagine they eat cereal in the morning too. There is a difference between getting your kids to do something and talking about someone else's kids. All parents indoctrinate their children else their wouldn't be religion. It's as American as apple pie.

Christie changed his at ude and tune after getting slapped by Sandy, tbh... He saw firsthand the destruction and helplessness that comes when completely out of anybody's control happen, and he finally understood 'government isn't all that bad'. You can see it in him and you can see it in the way he changed his tune. This is a much more center Christie. I agree he needs to work on his looks, tbh.

In his defense he felt that katrina funding was the new precedent and all he wanted was that amount. Even though that was an amount that Harry Reid came up with with no data or facts to base it on.

On Morning Joe, they were all talking about how from day one, he was a terrible politician. People that work talk about how he does things because "it's the right thing to do". Clearly "right" is in his POV but he doesn't divide the state up into districts that will reelect him, etc. The Mayor for Newark loves him even though they couldn't be farther apart politically.
