his "leadership" can be a double edged sword to this team imho. when he's in his right mind he can lead his team to victories even against the very best teams (OKC for example), if he's off form then the whole team will play like as a result. he'll always get the points he's supposed to get if he wants but it often seems he struggles to find the best way to help his team imho.

Honestly, I never noticed something until this season. Without Derek Fisher, Kobe just doesn't possess that leadership by himself. Of course it's easy to have predicted how hard it would be for him without Phil. But I really think Derek was the guy who always kept the leash tight on Kobe.

IE Game 7 2010 Finals, Kobe had an abysmal performance in the first half and Derek Fisher talked about how he sat Kobe down and asked him to stop playing hero ball and that's the only way they can win. Lord knows if D. Fisher wasnt there that night Kobe would have gone on to shoot 40 more times in the 2nd half.

If you don't possess leadership by yourself, you don't possess leadership. Kobe is a second fiddle, always has been. His fans just falsely assign qualities to him he's never had.

Actually he's not even a second fiddle. He's a "me first" person. He wants to win for himself, he wants to score for himself, he's never embraced the team concept. He even raped for himself, did not invite the team unlike Gary Neal.

If the team play doesn't uplift Kobe's image, if it doesn't focus on him and him alone, he's simply not interested. He's more interested in being Jordan than Jordan was.

Kobe's very smart, tbh. He took complete control of the Lakers, ESPN, USA Olympic team, a casual fan will think he's the next comming of MJ. It's interesting how he started playing team ball 3-4 games, timed to pass MJ in great style on the all-time assist list. The media must absolutely love him, after each game he trolls to the media to generate more polarization.

I don't believe Kobe has ever been a leader. He is a fantastic player, the second best shooting guard of all time, but not a leader. That is a not a knock, some guys no matter how talented they are, are just not leaders. Kevin Durant fits into that category as well.

He is a great fighter when on steroids. Mentally, when he's off of them he doesnt believe in himself. He also has been KTFO by quite a few fighters throughout his career.

Actually this is a true story, I came here in 2008 with another username (that I cant find after many efforts and emails to the admin) when Lakers beat the Spurs and Laker fans were ting on Spurs fans and completely trolling this place. I made a thread saying from a true Laker fan, thanks for all the great battles, I got good feedback about how I'm one of few classy Laker fans.

I never posted here again, but I came here after all the Spurs fans trolled LG 4 weeks ago. I decided to come here to see if we could have a logical debate about basketball, unfortunately I wasn't aware that the majority of people here were ing re ed.

Also btw, I have been saying this seasons over since December. I know Kobe's body language after years of being a fan, he looks like he's mentally checked out . I did not sign up here less than 3 weeks ago to celeberate a 5 game win streak. Seen so many championships in my day its a ing joke son. Just another June Summer in LA with the Lakers winning championships.

Leadership involves considering others in your decision making.

This concept has not yet occurred to Kobe Bryant.
