Even if we built it, the NFL still wouldn't come.
It would simply be used as leverage for teams like SD, Jacksonville, NO, etc to make more stadium demands, per the usual.

Yeah, but it still want/isn't impressive enough for an owner to want to bring a team here.
With the way Austin and S.A. are growing, I could see a team being relocated in S.A. in about 10 years.
The stadium would have to be nicer than Reliant and would have to give huge concessions to the prospective owner.

But no, won't happen. Instead, we get yearly news reports about some dumb istan people wanting to renovate it to NFL standards then have our stain city leaders cry about it being expensive. So it sits, hosting 5k people for a UTSA game, 50 people for a high school game, and the occasional christian gathering. And people actually think this city is aces
Alamodome isnt going anywhere tbh. UTSA is on the rise and will be a good partner for the Dome, the only thing holding UTSA back from selling it out consistently is dumb s like you that think its small time for a start up program to not immediately jump into the Big 12/SEC. UTSAs ascent to FBS has been historic, from the attendance records to the time it took to move up from FCS. And the Dome would be a Top 5 stadium in just about every conference.
Dont think the Dome is capable of hosting an NFL team though. It turns 20 years old this year and is not up to NFL standards, its only purpose would be as a temporary home until a stadium gets built...cause I dont think the people of San Antonio will get burned again and vote for a stadium before a team is already in place.

As a football product, not necessarily as a football power. An FBS team in a big, football starved city is a nice thing to have...getting into CUSA in 3 years is no small feat.

Honestly, as long as the dome operates in the black, it's a good thing for SA.
