Not really. TD is never able to stop Aldrige, he tends to hit the flukiest shots. Weird that Hickson had such a great game. The O was fine other than Manu had a bad game. CoJo did fine on Lillard for the most part too.
Actually I think the last 3 or 4 meetings Aldridge has performed below his usual standards versus the Spurs. If memory serves. He went crazy this game but a 26 point from Aldridge is something a team like ours should be able to handle. Hickson and Lillard were the difference-makers tonight imo and while the bigs are to blame for the Hickson thing, I thought Lillard's 35 and Portland's 3 point shooting were what really hurt the Spurs tonight.

Cut their 3-point shooting in half or so while limiting Lillard to 25 and Hickson to about 18, and I think the game's a lot closer.

Agreed, The perimeter D was horrendous.

We're gonna tear you guys a new asshole. ESPECIALLY with that abortion that's called the Spurs' perimeter defense. Look for a statement game when Kevin and Russ come into town.
Cool story, now go to sleep your mom is calling you..it's passed your bed time son...

Put any excuses you want, but a top defensive team should not allow 46 points in one quarter. That's beyond pathetic.

Did Pop play Joseph so little to make a statement to Mills? Almost to prove why Joseph is starting in Tony's absence? Pop is not afraid to throw a game to make a statement to his team, as long as that game isn't during the playoffs (heck even then, you never know with Pop).

Blazers give the Spurs the kind of home whooping that only the Heat have been able to give.
Uh, the Heat barely beat us against our C team last time...AT Miami no less.

I don't think so. Mills has played almost the same minutes as Joseph in Parker's absence, and the Spurs have won their last two games. In other words, it's just their regular Parker-less rotation.

Yeah. The other problem I had is that although our team scored enough points to win a game in theory, I didn't think the ball movement and play was where it should've been. Kawhi for example, got about as many FGA as he should (probably slightly less), but I felt like his offensive involvement wasn't consistent enough throughout the game. And Splitter was another one who should've gotten more opportunities.

More than ever, I think that Manu should be focusing more on distributing and picking his spots wisely. We need more production from everyone and I just thought the offensive execution wasn't where we needed it to be.

You're right, but the last time the Heat came to town the spread was similiar to this one.

He put on a clinic. What's Portland's excuse for not being in the playoff picture this year?

Missed the game. Shocked by the box score. I can't recall the Spurs or any other NBA team giving up 46 points in a quarter.
Tonight's game a training exercise for the next 0-4 playoff exit I guess.

A scrub but athletic team playing out of their minds despite having a good player in Batum only scoring two points and a soft but technically superb team that tends to struggle against young and athletic teams that punch them in the mouth.

No need to worry if this happened back in November or December but in the middle of March, at San Antonio and post rodeo trip? It's a HUGE concern regardless if it was without TP out there.

damn, I didn't see this coming, maybe a loss to okc, but then again, Portland has always had our number. Lillard dropped 35?!?, damn damn

46 pts in a quarter is a sign of quit. So is a backdoor sweep.

Come on now. The Spurs didnt take their opponent seriously and lost. It happens. At some point, the team will start feeling the effects of Parker not playing. The Blazers realistically aren't out of the playoff standings yet either so it's obvious they wanted this more. They have also had our number the past few years now.
