"It's been a long time since I've seen something like this," said veteran Lakers forward Antawn Jamison. "I've played with LeBron [James] for a little bit [in Cleveland] when he'd get it really rolling, but this? This is different.
Strong comments by the 15-year vet. He talking about what Kobe is doing in his 17th year. Think about that for a minute or two.

11 from 22 from the field is rolling? Definitely one of Kobe's best games of the season, at least on the offensive end. And those 9 TOs were pretty impressive, too. But Lebron's had many games this year that on Kobe's latest flavor of the week performance.

Props to Jamison for standing behind his teammate, though. If I was on the Lakers, I would want to create as much positivity as possible heading into the final stretch of the season, and if that means propping up the ego of your team leader, so be it.

    - this game isn't even a blip on the radar of some of Kobe's greatest games he's had in his illustrious 17-year, 1st ballot HOF career... and you know it. The thing is, he shouldn't be able to do what he's doing at this point in his career. In his prime, he's done things LBJ will never do so I don't really see your point in bringing him into this thread. Tell you what, I guarantee you LBJ will not be balling like Kobe is right now when LBJ is going into his 17th year - if he plays that long. His game is spectacular so long as his health holds up...but his game won't age as gracefully as Kobe's has. I remember several monkeyballers whose games fell off a cliff when they started losing their athleticism. Players like Kemp, Dominique, Antonio McDyess, Vincanity, etc. LBJ better learn how to play more below the rim before the same eventually happens to him. Kobe hasn't really played above the rim in years. But he's still the most lethal scorer in the game when he wants to be. Why? Because he learned how to adjust his game although his vert and stamina has diminished due to age and all the mileage.

    Anywho... More from Jamison:
"He's got two guys in his face, falling back, clean shot, nothing but net," Antawn Jamison said. "Like I said, I dealt with this guy for 14 years and now I think I deserve one year of him being my teammate."

Thing is, James isn't a monkeyballer. Best court vision since Magic and a very fundamentally sound player aside from his mediocre post game and jumper (which he's improved exponentially over the past few years. Fun fact: James shoots a higher percentage from 15 feet and beyond than Kirby). Just because James's jumper doesn't look pretty, doesn't mean his mechanics are broken. The way Lebron squares his shoulders and lifts his frame as he shoots is text book. And if he continues to improve his shot, no one will be able to block the guy in his later years since he's 6' 8". Furthermore, I think James will age differently than Kobe. When he can no longer drive at will, I expect him to transition to a more Magic Johnson style of game and remain one of the league's top 10 players. Thinking James is "going to fall off a cliff" post-prime is wishful thinking.

And why shouldn't Kobe be able to the things he's doing? This isn't the 80's or 90's anymore. Primes are lasting a lot longer these days with all the advancements in sport medicine. Combine that with Kobe's solid fundamentals, and it's no surprise he's still a great scorer. Duncan is similar. Probably the best overall big in this league this year. He just doesn't have the gaudy stats because the Spurs actually have depth and don't often find themselves in dogfights with ty teams.

I miss all those memes about Lebron with no rings...it just doesnt feel right since he was handed his first ring. I dont mind if Lebron teamed up with anyone in the NBA not named Kobe, Carmelo, Durant, or Wade. Im happy for Bosh though...he's been waiting since the Jurassic period to win 1 tbh

Pretty forced, to be honest. Reason the joke falls flat is because no one calls rims "rings."

TBH in case you didn't know...Kobe is already in the HOF...he got in before a 1st ballot...on a pre-ballot by virture of his shoes from the 81 point game....the HOF asked for them and Kobe sent them.

Bryant responded to a fan who wanted to know what Bryant did with the shoes he wore in that game.

"@4yearsenior I sent them to the hall of fame," Bryant replied on Twitter and @nikebasketball Tweeted, "Here is the proof @kobebryant @4yearsenior #countonkobe" with a photo of the shoes in the Hall of Fame.

Only since Daddy rang Vs. Indiana. Before that "they" liked to poke a stick at him and were whittlin' one for Kobe as well.

Uh, uh. Not on your sweet bippy.

Frankly, at the time I was all in favor of it. You roadblocked the Suns via that count. Only when I landed here and found your fandom such an absolutely irritating bunch, rivaling the Sun's fandom in that regard did I amass such a loathing and then reassessed the count angle.

I really shouldn't be so hard on you fellows. After all if it wasn't for you I wouldn't have O & 44. Horry put Nash into the boards and it went away just like that. I was walking the ing streets of Phoenix then, peeking into sports bars trying to ascertain the score without actually seeing it after the old lady had run me off'n the house. What a in' nightmare. I finally walked up to a Mexican joint on Litchfield & McDowell and saw the TnT post game and Parker and Duncan were being interviewed and were happy with grins on their faces. I jockeyed on home and had a fine nite.

    Good old days.

2nd seed, Houston in the opening round probably. That means the Thunder plays LA and it will be at least the 2nd round before SA meets a team of their caliber.
