Can't blame Kobe on that one though, he has been getting that call all this time, and the refs are being inconsistent by not giving him the call. I mean, come on, if I run red lights 1000 times, often times right next to cops, and never got a ticket, why would I be ticketed the 1001st time I ran a red light?

Also, Kobe will play soon, he has been constantly injured since 1996, he is such a warrior by playing an NBA record 1228th game with an injury.

Any of you clowns that actually play bball know that when you fade your body doesn't do this in a full straight up position and your legs naturally jut out. What DJones did was a dirty play and all shooters know this. You have to give chance for a defender to land and when that space is taken away it's a foul. Most refs don't call it as they are looking for arm and hand contact, however; this is how players get hurt. The rule of kicking your leg out and making contact of the defender is a good rule as well, although in this instance it's not the case.

You crowd shooters...make them uncomfortable...get in their head next time they think about shooting over you. It's part of basketball. This is where the game has been pussified. Offensive guys already get way to much protection in today's game. Laker fan loved the in-your-face "crowding" defense Kobe played on Bron in the meaningless All-star game. Now it's Kobe needs room to land.

He didn't extend his leg way out in front of him to get it under Kobe, he crowded him.

Hey bro, I totally agree with the sentiment. I do this all of the time, however I'm mindfull of how much I plant my body under the player. On a fade away sometimes that's your only choice to defend as you can't get up to block the shot. It's a ty deal really and yes I love Kobe but don't like that tactic, but on a game tieing shot attempt you do what you do to win the game. Put it in the refs hands. If playing pick up though, Djones would of been shunned for the tactic immediately.

It was and is a dirty dangerous move.

If players are allowed to block out or whatever, while another player is in the air, there will be a ton of injuries. Making contact down low, as opposed to defending the shot on a higher part of the body are vastly diff. Down low there is no time to adjust your legs, especially if contact is on the path back down.

Doesn't Kobe know that no one ever stepped under Michael Jordan's foot on a jumper?

Except that Kirby is making no attempt to "adjust his legs", rather he is doing the field goal kicker kickout with his right leg.
    Offense foul tbh.
No as to whether or not Jones took up Kirbys left foot landing space, and i think he did, it's still on Kirby who is doing his weak assed leg kick.

Stern needs to start protecting the players!

Pick up ball is different. Most guys are just trying to get a good run in. That is until someone starts running there mouth, then the defense go up a notch.

This isn't about blatantly undercutting people that go up for shots, its about making the shooter think twice about going up for a j in your grill when you're defending him. Next time, he will make sure he has space before pulling up for the j because he knows your gonna be right there when he comes down. It's the game inside the game.

And it's basketball! Guys roll their ankles all the time. It's probably the most reoccurring injury in all levels from Jr high to pros.

Besides, Kobe doesn't give two s about anyone else when the ball goes up. This was his quote when he got suspended for elbowing Miller, "Any player that was going to come down the lane at that point in time, I was going to let him know that he just can't walk through there," Bryant said after the game. Why does everyone coddle this guy?

If this happened to anyone else everyone would just call it a routine play. Quit being a bunch of gots, Lakerfan.

Bwahahahahaahahaha. Kobe about near tears in his post game.

"The officials need to protect shooters and not let them get undercut."

Well, dip , if you didn't kick your feet forward into the defender's space as you're coming down to land, this might've not happened.

    hahahahahahaaha

"I'm mad that I have to wait a year to get revenge"
Translation: Kobe wants MORE free throws.

I just love the irony of Kirby crying about dirty play when he was one of the dirtiest players in the league for years, tbh.... funny how he didn't have a problem with throwing bows or punching guys in the nuts, tbh....
