I wonder if they would both be considered playoff teams in that situation?![]()

Some of us would love to see them miss the playoffs, get a top three lottery pick, and watch the Suns say "thanks".
MDA's insight on the race for the 8 seed:
"It would be worse if it's April 18," D'Antoni said, referring to the day after the Lakers' regular-season schedule comes to an end. "We still have nine games, so we're tied. That's what the guys understand. Our goal is to win nine games. If we win nine in a row, then hopefully Utah will lose one. And if they lose two and we lose one, then that (works too). You got to go with every game is crucial and every game you have to win. You don't know what Utah is going to do. You hope they lose one."

You just lost 4 of 5 to the likes of the Suns, Wizards and Bucks, needed a non-call against Kobe in the one you won, and the coach thinks they can rip off 9 straight against the likes of the Mavs, Grizz, Clips, Warriors, Spurs, and Houston?

I'm sure Ireland is contractually obligated to be as much of a homer as possible but yeah he's pretty re ed.
ESPN Radio LA is just atrocious tbh. You know they're horrible when Marcellus is the voice of reason more often than not.
I prefer Petro's screaming & Money to the pretentious bags over at ESPN tbh.
I mean, Mason and Ireland have a funny show, but Ireland's homerism is as strong as I know. Right up there with Sean for us. And that clown Kellerman is the worst radio guy I've heard in a LONG time, so I'm glad Mercellus is there. The reason I still listen to ESPN as opposed to Petros/Money and those other dudes on that show is that... they seriously don't talk about sports. Its the weirdest thing. Or they only talk college. But every time I flip onto that channel, they're not talking about sports. Weird for sports radio station
Jazz and Lakers both have pretty bad schedules. The Jazz schedules looks slightly better.
Marc J. Spears @SpearsNBAYahoo 3m
Lakers guard Steve Nash (hip, back) heads to lockeroom early in 1st quarter at Sacramento.
Kings were beating the Lakers then remembered they were tanking.
mike is going to kill kobe, playing him the whole game
The Kings must be trying really hard to win, they've got DeMarcus Cousins take their three-pointers in crunch time...
Lakers win by DMCWDYTTDA3 (Why Did You Take That Dumb Ass 3)
Doesn't matter for LA, Utah won.
I'm a big Utah and Dallas fan these days...
Thats cool, he will be tired for our series.
Jazz up 12 with 1:30 left:

Isaiah Thomas played less than 1 minute during the 4th quarter
Reminds me of how the Hornets su iously benched Anthony Davis during their 4th quarter meltdown when he was having a good all around game![]()
Looks like this thread should have been a 7th seed watch..
It's either gonna be Utah, LA, Houston, or Golden State as the 7th or 8th seed that we play. Dallas has an outside shot as well..
Utah winning 5 in a row really hurt the lakers chances.
Now all Lakers can hope for is Utah losing to a scrub team and/or Lakers beating 2 out of these: MEM, LAC, GS, SA, HOU
It looks like the game Spurs vs. Lakers will decide not only 8th seed fate, but might also decide 1st seed![]()
ing great games coming up, playoffs are actually starting right now
IMO here are the chances:
Spurs 1st seed: 60%
OKC 1st seed: 40%
Utah 8th seed: 75%
LA 8th seed: 25%
lakers if they don't make the playoffs. dudes gonna have to ball out of their minds just to make 8th seed

Refs will get the Lakers in, don't you worry. Then they'll help them get out of the first round should they meet the Spurs.
Good points. I still think the Lakers find a way to get in somehow, just by the grace of the basketball Gods (aka David Stern). It'll be interesting to see how it plays out. Spurs are barely hanging on to that one spot, and we play the Thunder in OKC which is obviously a big game. But even if we lose, we'll still be up 1/2 a game on them (as long as we take care of business against Orlando tonight). I think we finish with the 1st seed and play the Lakers somehow. But don't hold me to it.
Gonna be the Spurs if they keep sitting players tbh.
