Jack has always had emotional challenges. That emotion drove him to compete hard, but this time, his play didn't live up to his desire. He was playing like crap, and actually hurt the team while on the floor. In a remarkable showcase of extreme denial, thought he was still the player he was 10 years ago, and deserved more play time (smh).
I was glad when the Spurs traded RJ away, but now, that trade has outlived it's usefulness. IMHO, Jack's done in the NBA.

I, as I often do, simply asked a question that shows a possibility that runs counter to some posters' worldviews and they get all pissy like you just did.
I understand why Pop did what he did; not sure I agree with it. I would be interested to see what the aforementioned players think about it. If you don't and just want to believe whatever you make up in your heads, that's fine.
yes I agree he played like crap but it takes a new dimension of stupid to get kicked out of a team right before the playoffs.
a) Pop mentioned it was affecting the play of younger players. It's really easy to get in the head of a young player, and there's not necessarily much that vets can do about it. Right now the young players on this squad need confidence and support, not additional pressure.
b) Tony didn't seem too pissed off to see Jack go, according to his postgame interview. At some point there's little somebody can do to fix a problem. And I can't see Tony (or Tim) being too friendly with somebody making the kind of comments Jax did (including in public) especially if it concerns a teammate like Manu with whom they've been through and high water.
Yeah JAX pretty much has sucked the whole season but he had a lot of challenges his broken finger and the death of his child. I don't care how strong you are loosing a child has to do something to you and maybe this was the best thing for JAX and the Spurs. My only issue is that we don't have Manu and we don't have Diaw what happens if neither is ready for the first round?
He's closer to being Robert Horry than Green, that's for sure. Pop has now put extra pressure on Green not to play like a deer-in-headlights like he did last year in the playoffs.Which isn't true, but keep on saying it.
Dude's averages have been lower in the playoffs than in the regular season each and every year with the exception of last year. He is NOT in any way, shape, or form like Robert Horry.
You don't think RC and the team vets had any say knowledge of it? It seems stupid to me for everyone to assume Pop has that much control.

Who liked Sjax in the team, except Tim Duncan and maybe Parker? You folks are overestimating how much SJax is likeable in a team. He should be a pain in the ass for most players, like Green, Manu, Kawhi, Neal...
Another thing people are forgetting is Pop could simply have suspended Jax for a few games/days. That would at least be temporary and allow Jax to think it over. Instead he had to waive him which is permanent.
He could have done that. But if Jax is causing problems because he wants another big paycheck and is bristling over minutes, then a suspension might not change anything, especially as they head into the playoffs and need everyone focused.
At first I was shocked by this decision but overall I love that the Spurs don't bend over for prima donnas. Also, I wouldn't be shocked if Pop consulted with TP, Duncan and Manu about this. TP especially didn't seem that heartbroken over Jax's situation. I like Jax but his troublemaking ways always seem to happen at some point.

It seems like they don't enjoy playing very much. they are extra critical of themselves. i was actually in Spain just recently and saw some girls that looked like Lefty's "girlfriend". a lot of them didn't look like her, but a few had the look. Whoever she is, she is pretty damn perfect.
Boris injury is much worse than Jax. I'm not happy with Jax situation, but I'm also not happy that he was turning into a troublemaker again. Overall, I love that the organization doesn't tolerate from prima donnas. I think Bonner will be okay in these playoffs. It's not like Diaw is always that good, though he is more talented than Bonner.
The team certainly has issues, no doubt. but in all honesty, the Heat are the only team that looks really good.
