yea i thought the same thing about that foot off the gas comment. pay attention tim, we had three separate (at least)10 game win streaks in that shortened season. the last streak we had was the last 10 games of the regular season and the first 10 games of the playoffs.

    foot off the gas?

take, and ty doubter shtick throughout.
So you haven't heard Pop's comments about how he didn't think the win streak was a good thing or how about the times he ended a win streak earlier in the season by tanking?

If he can fill the Glenn Robinson role then I'm all for this, T-Mac with a chance to prove himself and get into the second round. Jackson was absolute trash, I doubt he'd be putting up 25/7/5 in China, so this in no way could be a downgrade at least

T-Mac not playing tonight doesn't make sense. Pop wants to rest his important players and will need someone to soak up minutes. T-Mac needs to get used to NBA game speed again.

I've heard people say Manu is out for the entire playoffs, no idea what source these people have.
These people are clueless with like that

They're "professional" analysts and don't know Manu could play tonight.

And? Dude's probably better than Jack too tbh. Wilson Chandler averaged 26 and 11.5 in China, are you saying Shavlick Randolph is better than him?

That's what I just heard on the radio. I don't know why (if he's healthy enough to play), Pop wouldn't want to give him a look.

    1) Bonner and Blair may or may not be legitimate bigs...they are still in the rotation and are in front of Baynes. So Baynes was not going to get much playing time in this scenario. He will get more next year.

That's not the situtation with T-Mac. Timvp makes a point that T-Mac probably won't play. I could see a scenario where he could get minutes and that's not out of the realm of possiblity.

Lastly, T-Mac probably knows this is his last legitimate shot as a NBA player. So he will be a team player and fill whatever role Pop wants him to fill. Even if he doesn't play but is professional....Pop's word carries weight and he can get an opportunity with another NBA team. That is what he wants...not playing in China for the rest of his career. T-mac will fit in under this scenario.

Of course, you have gone to crazy Stern conspiracy theories to justify your argument. Either the Spurs are good enough to win or they are not....not some crazy theory that Stern has conspire to get them out of the playoffs.
    1) Never talked about Baynes. He's a rookie and one that joined the team well into the season. He is at the end of the rotation. As such he will see no playing time in the PO: better rookies (Hill, Splitter), were treated this way. I supsect, and wrote, that De Colo will also see little playing time in the PO.
    2) In the best case scenario, McGrady will see no playing time, as some posters write. You say he will, and I tend to agree with you; but not because he is good, or there is much TMAc career-based logic behind this decision, but out of mere desperation.
    3) Popovich has announced THE SAME DAY that Jack was released and Diaw, a potential back-up 3 (the only credible one in my opinion), will not play for 3/4 weeks. He gave no serious explanations as to why Jack was released. And obviously was not seriously asked by the usual intimidated crowd of reporters. It might be, just might be, that he might have been a tad too quick to fire Jack.
    4) Stern is running the NBA business as such, and that's why he has been so successful and has kept his job. There is no conspiracy whatsoever. He is just maximizing his assets. The Lakers franchise is a much more important asset than the Spurs. Chek out the recent LAL-GSW game. They seriously have no chance against Durant's team; they do against these Spurs. So I would be surprised if I DON'T see more of the Joey Crawford' Bill Kennedy "bad calls" of G6 of 2012 WCF. Without Jack, it might be difficult to call a T for staring at the bench, but these guys know their business very well so I trust them to do the "right thing" for the business.

Where did he say he isn't playing tonight?
It was stated in yesterdays news piece of the signing.

But this piece today is making me wonder:

"McGrady completed a physical exam and signed a contract that will make him available for the playoffs. Though he is expected to participate in a morning practice session Wednesday, it is uncertain if he will be in his No. 1 Spurs uniform for Wednesday’s season finale against the Minnesota Timberwolves at the AT&T Center."

Even with all his years in the league, he still has a faster release then SJax so that's already a plus.
