Funny, just a couple weeks agi Magic picked the Lakers to beat the Spurs in the first round. How quickly times have changed.

Actually he did a complete 180 immediately after the 1st loss, I heard it on the radio, been looking for the video but cant find it. I agree with another poster here, if spurs became hobbled in this series it would've been because the lakers were too much for them.

Blake and his hot shooting was the only thing keeping them in the game last night.

I almost feel bad for them...almost.

And by almost, I mean not at all. FTL.

I would have some sympathy but:

    1. It's the Lakers.

    2. The Spurs have been dealing with injuries all season.

    3. The Spurs have had much better teams than the current Lakers squad derailed by injured.

    4. If the roles were reversed, the storylines would be how the mighty Lakers overcame the overrated Spurs. Not " Injuries "

The Flakers ran poor Kobe into the ground. Such bad decisions all year long, idiotic payroll, and STILL in this situation. Shouldn't have fired the coach during the season, should have developed bench instead of running Kobe into the ground.

    1) Trade for a center coming off back surgery

    2) trade for a 38 year old point guard with back problems: give him a 3 year contract

2a) Fire the head coach 5 games into the season and replace with a guy known for uptempo play, short rotations, and long minutes for his top players.

    3) run your 1 durable star into the ground because he needs to play 48 minutes a game just to squeak into playoffs

    4) bench scrubs suddenly getting hurt because they're thrown ino getting big minutes they're physically unprepared for

Well, they used to, but then the guy in charge who knew what he was doing got really old, and decided out of pity to hand over the reins to his semi-re ed dismal failure of a son instead of, for example, his supremely competent daughter.

So now, the Lakers have become a West Coast version of the '00s Knicks.

Spurs better not this up. I can totally see them sleepwalking into Staples thinking it will be a cakewalk and Dwight Howard scoring 50 after which the media declares the Lakers "BACK FROM THE DEAD!!!" Please Spurs, finish this .

The size of Steve Nash's head is grossly out of proportion to the rest of his body.
