it's good to see the NBA Forum hasn't turned into the gay (no pun intended) claptrap of the Political Forum

Richard Jefferson is next. Wait, they were teammates with the Nets, right?
I wonder if Richard Jefferson and Jason Collins slept in the same bed at hotel rooms on road trips? I'm sure they had a gay old time.
So Collins came out as both black AND gay ?
He is black ???????? !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so he loves the , who cares?
non issue.
No wonder he was always willing to tangle with other big men in the paint, tbh...
Honestly who wouldn't be? In this economy with all the wars, shootings, and bombings and general going on? You'd have to be living in another ing universe like those Hollywood stars or pro athletes and even they can't stop overdosing on all sorts of and putting a gun to their mouth.
No he has re-vitiligo. You know, that disease that Micheal Jackson had? The lucky bas . There's no such thing as a black gay guy.
Chris Broussard goes Bible Kemp on Jason Collins
Chris Broussard, Tim Hardaway, and Rob Parker should have a podcast together tbh

in a dude in the ass is just gottdayum awful, but in a chick in the ass is like winning the powerball lotto.
if i were such an obscure scrub in NBA whose playing career is approaching the end, i would also come out of the close in order to make people know me and remember me, and i'd probably even pretend like one even if i was not really a

It's not enough to respect another person's beliefs or lifestyle, you are now expected to openly celebrate those things. It has become a strange compe ion among people to see who can be more openly "tolerant." This makes it difficult to determine the amount of sincerity involved when the issue of sexual equality is discussed. It seems that many times it isn't even about gay people anymore, or whether they are treated with respect and equality. It has just become an opportunity for TV and radio personalities to demonstrate how "progressive" and "forward thinking" they are.
Nothing Broussard said was wrong, yet I fully expect for him to lose his job over those comments. It's amazing how freedom of speech has become extremely one-sided nowadays. You no longer have the right to even disagree...anyway Broussard needs to start looking for another job asap tbh
There is a lot of truth in what you say. In my opinion there are significant hidden agendas involved that have to do with money and power. Money, because the news/entertainment industries can get readers/viewers (and therefore revenue) by promoting/celebrating gay rights and by labeling/denigrating anti-gay people and beliefs. Power, because focusing on group differences is a way to energize political activism and therefore getting your party in office.
For example, I am a contributing member of the Human Rights Campaign (http://www.hrc.org), as a straight supporter. However, a significant number of the emails/posts I see from them are about political support of the Democratic party, rather than just about LGBT rights.
And, are you as sick as I am about the movie-of-the-month that's cranked out about the poor gay/lesbian/transexual and the struggles they face? GMAFB OK? Lots of gay people are living their lives just fine, thanks.
ON THE OTHER HAND: That does NOT mean that having anti-gay views is OK. Just because the other side isn't 100% crystal clean and pure doesn't mean that your side is justified.
Oh and btw when Jason Collins gets released from the Wizards then he can saythey didn't want me because I'm Gay
. No bro it's cause you're garbage and always have been garbage.
But the thing is he was asked on the show to express his views ...he does and he gets crucified for it. The hypocrisy of it all is many of our laws are rooted in religous moral code ...many humans morals are driven by their spirtual upbringing. So because his religous views are not "enlightened" he may get fired for that? Makes no sense.
Like I said last night though he is dumbass .... his hoop takes are e ...and knowing how the PC police are and the vigor in activisim behind gay rights ...he should not have took the bait and espoused his views in a national forum.
He should stick to what he is good at sucking off Lebron and clinging to his "sources" ...and spitballing rumors.
But again Collins is being applauded for sharing his lifestyle choice but Brousard condemned for his religous beliefs.
lol a thread full of jeebo s complaing about gay people
lol religious people incapable of hiding their true colors
lol bible thumpers being the most hateful people in this country
And another thing missed that I know the more "enlightened" won't admit is that in this "culture" of sport ... I bet at least 50% of the players and maybe even more of teh general fans do NOT believe that a gay player is as good as a straight one. A star player that comes out and that fails to be agressive or plays a passive role or loses to a more traditional "macho" player like Lebron ...it will further the stereotypes.
Jason collins just took a baby step. NBA, NFL, MLB needs (Well the LGBT?) a Martina Navatrilota(?) type player to show that they compete on equal footing with hetero players to help break down those walls. I joked last night about a beating Jon Jones in UFC ...but tbh that is what is needed to change the perception of them being soft or less capable. I know that sounds neanderthallish to some but is the reality of high level sports. The Rutgers coach was just caught on tape plenty of coaches and players feel that way.
Jon Jones himself is probably gay as nearly all UFC fighters are. Straight men don't enjoy roling around on the floor with other men while wearing spandex.
