I could also bring up how Kobe was carried in both '08 and '12. Lebron and Wade destroyed him statistically both years, and Kirby's much heralded 4th quarter against Spain is perhaps the most overrated performance I've ever seen. Not only did Wade and Chris Paul hit more shots down the stretch, but Kobe's vaunted "doberman" defense let Rudy in' Fernandez go off for 22 points.

PHOENIX -- Tim Duncan has officially notified USA Basketball that he will not be a part of the U.S. team that will compete at this year's world championships and the 2008 Olympics.
After the Spurs' 91-86 loss to the Suns on Saturday night, Duncan confirmed his 4-year old butthurt feelings on playing for the U.S. team:
"I have no interest in getting my pushed in again tbh. I'm not protected by unbiased FIBA officiating, like i have been in the NBA my whole career," he said.
Duncan was part of the most embarassing, uninspired, weak minded, pathetic, devoid of leadership U.S. team that won the bronze medal at the 2004 Olympics. This was the first time in Olympic history that an NBA-laiden team failed to win Gold. He was selected for the U.S. team at the 2000 Olympics but had to withdraw due to complications with his tramp stamp tattoo.
