    I was not expecting this team to get to the finals. I personally thought a 2nd round exit was most likely.

    Were you expecting Finals at the start of the season?

    This group has played some outstanding basketball, the season has been a success IMO. I would really enjoy winning a 5th, but had no expectations of doing so.

    Say the Spurs go to the finals and lose and Pop plays his best (not favorite) players...

    or

    Say the Spurs go to the finals and lose and Pop plays Bonner more than Splitter, Diaw, ...

    Which would be harder to accept?

    Popsuckers cannot understand this and Pop took 3 years to figure out that playing Splitter next to Timmy --and playing Bon-Bon LESS --was in the Spurs best interests.

    Now that Pop has squandered 3 years and les- Popsuckers want to forget that what Pop is doing now is what we had been screaming for - for years...

    So, again, thanks Pop.

    Cue the butt-hurt from the Popsuckers...

    Now that Pop has squandered 3 years and les- ..
    Uhhh we were not good enough to win 3 les in 3 years, no matter how optimistic Pop or anyone else might have been.
    Btw, we did not even make it to the finals. And if you happen to think playing Splitter next to Duncan when he was not close to ready would have changed our fate, you have reached the extreme daft zone. Splitter still has so much to improve on Now.

    Congrats.

    The only difference for Splitter now vs. 3 years ago is PLAYING TIME -if you cannot see this and how simple this concept is - then you are over-thinking it ---or ---

    you are a true Popsucker. No ifs -ands- or - buts-

    Playing time. It only took the genius coach 3 years to figure it out. Glad he finally saw it.

    So sacrificing a player and team for that players individual development (that might very well go south) gets you 3 championships the last 3 years. You are seriously so flawed in your reasoning its comical.

    You do not put players in a position to fail themselves and the team. Tiago still has a very long way to go to be a complete player. And it is highly possible he never learns to shoot a hook shot properly, rebound with authority, or develop hands to hold on to the flippn ball.

    You think Tiago was the ONE magical piece to win us 3 championships? If so, you should never have watched this team, and you might want to quit watching NOW.

    It's funny to justify Pop's decision to not play Tiago, people like to point out that he's not that good or tough or injury prone. At 7ft tall and with a high basketball IQ he's still much better than the alternative. I am not saying we would have won a championship though I think it's highly probable, however I am saying it would have maximized our potential. We were capable of getting out of the first round in '11 if Pop had simply integrated Splitter earlier. If you listen to Pop's comments when he talks about Splitter you will realize he messed up even though he refuses to admit it. He tends to claim Splitter being injured so much which is a lie.

    He was injured his 1st season. It set him back according to most people more familiar with his situation than you or I.

    Did you go to practice and watch him every day? I did not.

    And so you to put yourself in the category as this silvermisfit creature who believes with Tiago we win 3 championships?
    Seriously?

    So you can't see Diaw ever starting? Especially if Diaw had not been injured and actually in shape? Remember we play many teams. Not all of them are Memphis.

    Great points -

    one thing every popsucker is conveniently forgetting -

    Not only would Tiago have played and matured quicker than 3 years --

    It would have also SAVED us all the agony of BONNER-BALL!!!!

    This is not even a small detail - this in itself would have avoided losing to a couple of teams in the playoffs.

    Players have nothing but positive things to say about Pop.
    Opposing coaches can only admire what Pop has done with a bunch of crappy draft choices over the years, not to mention the team overall.
    The media has nothing but positive things to say even though he treats them like .

    But sBM, conspiracy theorist SA210, and Fabbs know more than all those people, who are intimately involved in the game on a daily basis. I guess they are all "Popsuckers" too and if so I would rather be in that company than the former.

    All the Popsuckers that scoffed and tried to ridicule me when I said that Pop is still the biggest obstacle to the Spurs winning a le....

    what is the reasoning now?
    Where is the Coach of the year?

    Bonner still the first "big" off the bench...

    No sight of a TD/Tiago pairing....

    Blair...6'7'' starting center ...

    Being embarrassed by MIKE BROWN....MIKE IN' BROWN!

    McRoberts posterizing Bonner....Pop pulls Bonner...Pop puts Bonner right back in...GENIUS!

    No One on the Spurs with any desire...any fire...any balls...and Coach Pop didn't change anything...just kept the same rotation...the same everything....

    This is what the Playoffs have in store...and this is exactly what happened last season...

    Pop has had two seasons now with Splitter...and in two seasons...he has not been able to "find time" to try and integrate his only two players approaching 7 feet....this is the NBA where being tall is something that can't be taught...on top of that Splitter is not just some "serviceable' "blue collar" role player...he can actually be an asset by his mere presence on the court with his vision, passing, and basketball IQ...but head coach has pissed away two seasons....
    This seasons playoffs are just about here and head coach is right on cue to get embarrassed again....

    COTY....
    lol " head coach"

    Hairston should have seen more floor time than;

    1) Bogans

    2) Mason

    3) Bonner

    Temple should have seen more time than;

    1) Bogans

    2) Mason

    3) Bonner

    Mahinmi should have seen more floor time than;

    1) Bogans

    2) Mason

    3) Bonner

    if it is NOT readily apparent to your eyes now--it will be this coming season, as you will see these players show how much valuable they were/are OVER;

    1)Bogans

    2) Mason

    3) Bonner

    and I hope that Pop is held accountable-this time.
