I like Roy Hibbert and the mother er comment made me smile, but the no comment and the reactions here are pretty sad. It's not about 'pussification' (sigh) or being overly sensitive or political correctness. I could go on for great length about the oppression of minorities, including LGBTQ people, or about what has been done to gay people but it would be lost on assholes like many of the responders in this thread.

A suspension would be entirely unwarranted, but a fine certainly is. What bothers me is the ingrained nature of slur. It doesn't make me angry, just sad. He really might be able to benefit from sitting down for awhile with Jason Collins. Very sad.

It kills me that Hibbert apologized to Collins. Collins doesn't speak for all gay people nor was it directed at him. Why on Earth would it be necessary to apologize to Collins when Collins own brother pokes fun of the situation of being gay ?
