Won against the Lakers in their first year together, no Finals in 09 because KG goes down, back in the Finals in 2010 and almost beat the Lakers in 7.
2011 - Miami big 3
2012 - Took prime Lebron, a pretty healthy and imo still prime Wade to 7 games, Lebron unfortunately ed on them and they failed the close it out at home in 6
2013 - made Allen leaves, Rondo tears ACL, Jet and Lee prove to be busts, Sullinger down, still took a 2 seed to 6 games without their best player.
Stern will find an excuse to block it, tbh....http://www.boston.com/sports/basketb...oc_rivers.html
The two teams are working on a deal, the source said. It's unlikely that anything will be completed before Monday, when the deal would likely be sent to the league office for approval.
Sounds crazy, but how many good coaches are there really in this league right now? Popovich, Thibodeau, Carlisle, and Adelman are really it right now. So top 3 is crazy, but Rivers seems like a solid 5-8 by default.
based on what?
Tons of good players have been drafted in the late first. Even a few great ones.
He got them to two finals though, ECF as well. They lost to LA in the last one I know, but they were within a game 7 of taking that there. But as you said he did have some talent on that team so I can see what you are saying there. We will see when he is in LAC how good he is I guess, that will be a huge test in the City of LA.
based on the fact that there are a ton of ty coaches in the league.
in any case, Doc Rivers is an overrated, overpaid . he was a terrible coach until Ainge brought in everyone, so Rivers coattailed himself to "elite caching status". everyone knows Flop is the real coach of the team anyways.
Doc is decent nothing more or less....1 le in 6 yrs with HOF'ers and All-Star Players won't cut it for me...he couldn't even squah beef between Ray Allen and Rondo he's a ing clown..he benched Ray Allen and now Ray gets the last laugh...since he's the reason Miami won game 6....Rivers is a ing idiot....CP3 and Dwight are both clowns and deserve each other....
Based on getting a horrible Magic roster to near .500 when everyone knew they were going to be gone in the summer to make room for Grant Hill, Tim Duncan, or Tracy McGrady. That's gotta count for something. And also based on how many really bad coaches there are in the league.
bum with the baseline goods
That's pretty much my thoughts on him too, tbh..... at worst he's top five with Pop, Thibs, Carlisle, and Vogel imho....
unprotected. lol. Ainge robbing the Clips with the ol finger in the coat pocket trick.

The feeling is the league would approve a Doc or a KG move but not both.
1. Thibodeau
2. Pop
3. Carlisle
4. Adelman
5. Frank Vogel
6. Mike Malone
7. Doc Rivers
8. Erik Spoelstra
9. George Karl
10. Lionel Hollins
Unprotected too. Good move by the Clips. Sterling got it right for once.
KG wouldn't report to the Clippers if he was traded. Dude would retire a Celtic.
Is it really you in this GIF?![]()

i didn't even know teams could "trade" a coach
lol unprotected is horrible move for the clips.
KG lives in Malibu in the offseason, only wants to play for Doc, and has a no-trade clause that he'd only waive for the Clippers (which is why I'd love to see Stern try to block that trade)....
