There was no one at #28 who could help us right now, so we might as well try to get some help down the road. Besides we get to keep all of our cap for players who can help us right now instead of tying some up in a guy who won't contribute during the playoffs.
Thanks for that info. I dont watch collage basketball so I wouldn't know.

Maybe but working within the Spurs system we can hope for better.
Yes because the spurs have drafted so many euros that have panned out....oh wait the only ones were manu and tony over a decade ago.

Splitter, Mahimi, Barbosa (drafted for Phoenix), Scola (oops), etc. Much better record than basically every other team out there, particularly considering none of these guys were drafted inside the top 20.

LMAO at you guys ing, first off we are saving cap space foe free agency, second, there was no player that would make an impact enough for us to win it all, lastly, this guy legit. He looks like he is a guy who woulda been drafted between #5-#15 had he been a college player in the U.S.
You know how it is everyone looks good in highlights. I watched Shaq highlights when he was in high school and had no idea he was going to be the most dominant big man ever. I just noted Livio has a good looking 3 point shot, dunks with ridiculous ease, blocks some shots and looks like a real fluid athlete.

Beyond that, as a Frenchie you can bet that the Spurs scouted him heavily before making this pick. So yeah, most likely he's legit. Seems like the worst case would be his offense doesn't translate to NBA and he is a defensive specialist.

This will be a "good move" only if the Spurs score big in FA.

if he develops in a year or two we could move kawhi to SG and let jean play SF. that is alot of length on the wings.

Yes if he plays D like Kawhi that could be a sick defensive lineup!

Wow...did yid you just read that list? Which one of those has helped the spurs? Splitter is decent but his vagina showed in the playoffs when he was repeatedly blocked by guys half his size. These guys are all pansys.

And scola never played for the spurs.

Looks like a good prospect for a team built around Parker.

Save a little more cap room for this offseason. No problem.

anyone thinking the Spurs are going to sign anyone worth a damn in free agency

Good pick tho, I think he'll be a good role player to either back up Kawhi or play some small ball minutes.

Is he a SF or a PF? I just hope he is not another tweener, too slow to play the 3 and too weak/small to play the 4.

I was talking about Euros who didn't completely stink / never make it to the league. We aren't picking guys like Jan Vesely at #7 or Andrea Bargnani at #1. To me, that's a pretty darn good list of evaluating Euro talent.

Heck, they even drafted Dragic and Udrih who are still in the league. When you're drafting at the end of the first round every year, the chance you get guys who stick in the league is very low. I trust our scouts on this guy.

I'd rather spend that $800k and roster spot on a vet's minimum guy who wants to come here and win. Let guys develop overseas whenever possible.

    Chad Ford likes the pick...

Livio Jean-Charles was the breakout star at the Nike Hoop Summit. Jean-Charles exploded with 27 points, 13 rebounds, two steals and two blocks. He clearly was the MVP of the World Team, doing the little things that impresses scouts all week. He's long, athletic, has a nose for the ball and can score both inside and on the midrange jumper. Spurs think he'll spend another year in France before he comes to the NBA. A nice pick here.

Bottom line Iis theyre all soft player. Thats my problem. When it matters, these guys get pushed around in the playoffs.

Coward and soft arent necessarily the same thing. You can be brave as you want, but if you get pushed around all the time your still soft.

And I didnt say they didnt have heart. I said they were soft.

Allen Crabbe or Tony Mitc . Labia Jean-Charles will NEVER help this team.
