Welcome back, Tiago. I'm sure there are people still cutting their wrists.
Now bring back Manu and sign Kirilenko.
i want re & ak47 now.... they better get that done
Welcome back, Tiago. I'm sure there are people still cutting their wrists.

Have to remember that Splitter didn't become full time starter till Dec 15th vs Celtics; so next year will be first time he presumably starts entire year; brings continuity and chemistry.
Now re-sign Manu and go all out for AK47. We won't get the shot creator that we need but hopefully Splitter improves and Kirilenko would step up and have a good year. Our best shot at this point.
Not really, since the signing team tends not to be the one who negotiates the deal. We could tell for sure by looking at the raises, though.
so how much cap space do we have?
While I think the Spurs had to resign him around 9 million to keep him; and they would have a tough time finding a replacement (and probably pay a lot more for it), most people are scared of tying up so much cap space for a guy that Pop didn't trust to put in game 7 of the NBA finals.
Splitah gonna add a jumper and shut the haters, pay da man
that was just a fake rumor is my guess...no credible source behind it
Ace with the glass half full take.
I'd rather he add some legit post moves instead of being so dependent on the pick n roll for most of his offense.
Great news for Tiago as well. Would have probably fell off the plane and died on the tarmac if he had signed with Portland tbh.
tlong
Come on, it's really not a bad deal you guys. 9 is legitimately what was expected. 7 million was a Spurstalk pipe dream. We are strapped on any other quality FAs. But if Splitter got away, and we were left without a big man we would have been in a lot of trouble. Everyone knows I'm not a big Splitter fan, but he has gotten better each year. I expect the trend to continue. If he could just bulk up 10-15 lbs it would do wonders for him
I honestly think we should have saved money and not gave Bonner 4 mill. That money could have brought in a backup PG or SG. I would like to see Neal leave. He is a 3 point specialist, and not a good one at that. It's time.to see what DeColo can do. Both these guys contribute on the right teams and situations, but there were/are bigger needs that won't get filled. Right now I am very concerned with SG and Forward. I don't see where replacements/upgrades/depth is coming from.
for the west, splitter is still a valuable commodity.
Not sure why anyone would be complaining. There weren't any better realistic options. Especially considering how long it takes a big man to acclimate in Pop's system.
I like Tiago and think he can improve greatly. Was looking forward to Gortat though.
our best free agent is going to be a third year leonard, who should really start taking his game to all star level next season.
exactly was just thinking this....
I'm wondering if some of you would rather have Greg oden!?
That's a good deal, and pretty much what we all expected here. What I like about Tiago is that he has proven that he is willing to work hard to improve his game (e.g., free throw shooting last year). If he can up the rebounding production a bit each year, he'll be well worth the deal. Now lets hope the Spurs can nab AK47 for what is left.
I like this deal. Hopefully this means Tiago stays in San Antonio for a while this summer and works with the new big man coach the Spurs hired.
Was there ever any doubt that the two sides would reach an agreement. For 9 mil per year, I personally want Splitter to MTFU and become much more aggressive around the basket - starting next season!
Why not both? Room exception can be in play for him, no?
