This will be pretty funny when he averages 3 rebounds next year in the playoffs.
We can't use the MLE when we're under the cap.![]()
No, they can't. A team can't use the MLE and cap space in the same off-season. Also, the $8 Million only happens if the Spurs amnesty Bonner. Right now, they have about $9 Million free.
[QUOTE=timvp;6725619]On thing to keep in mind: Woj's reported salaries always seem to be high with regards to the Spurs. While he's saying "$36M+" for Splitter now, that could end up being closer to $30M.
Remember, last year Woj said Duncan got $36M over three years but we eventually found out TD got $30 over three years.[/QUOTE
Duncan gave the Spurs the discount, I don't think they'll be that lucky with Splitter
rasho was brought in to be a big body to match up with snaq. he was never intended to be a shooter or a big scorer. he was here to defend and rebound. he blocked a shot and a half a game, and rebounded well for the limited minutes he played (he per 36 numbers were phenomenal while he was here).
his problem was that he was so damned passive offensively when duncan was in the game. i seem to remember him having some solid games at times when duncan was out.
Fortunately, there's this whole thing where KL keeps dropping double doubles in the playoffs, which takes the pressure off needing a center that's also a superior rebounder.
Ah yes, good point...
9M a year for 6 pts and 3 boards in the playoffs.
Nice to be an NBA big man.
please let this be a sign and trade for Gortat![]()
Stop being a GNSF.
God i hope you're right.
you are so much more elite having a bold name

9M a year for a player who logged 4 minutes in game 7 of the NBA finals.
So we are paying heavy quap for the 7th best spur in the playoffs. He will have no use against the powers of the nba like heat, thunder. The contract is equally as bad as Jefferson's was. Both players mirror each other, soft as and equally as useless.
-Splitter played well in 3 out of 4 series in the playoffs
-We probably don't get past Memphis without him
-Spurs are mediocre defensively without him
-He plays the most games out of any Spur to keep Duncan fresh for the POs and probably extends his level of play another season or two
I was disappointed in his Finals play as much as anybody else but I'm willing to give him another shot if it means the Spurs can keep contending in the Duncan era.
And stats don't really tell anywhere near the whole story in the Spurs' system.
And Duncan wouldn't have been anywhere near as fresh as he was for the playoffs if it wasn't for Splitter manning the paint for the entire season. Idiots abound in here.
Splitter is effective against the teams that matter in the west. Houston, LA, Memphis, Clippers. Im not sue about OKC.Now if we get back to the finals ill be happy for one more opportunity.
Again, stop acting like a moronic GNSF.
Pretty much this.
Just try to rationalize this the same way you did when you were stoked about the Spurs bringing RJ back.
Great, now Mozgov is going to get paid![]()
Lol I was definitely not "stoked" about that. I understood the move though.
I've already said that I would re-sign Tiago. Doesn't mean he isn't overpayed and overvalued. It is what it is.
Just pointing out facts.
GNSF
brb, gonna go enjoy having a defensive starting center locked up for 4 years.
the idea of Millsap being an upgrade against the Heat![]()
