if they move him right away than yeah, but making him ride the bench or exposing all of his weaknesses would only make his trade value lower.
I think it was yearly deals and was looking for a 3/4 year deal.

Not really. Re was a FA. He could've just walked for nothing. The Bucks at least got something out of it.It's actually not a bad deal for the Suns either, provided Bledsoe improves on the offensive end.... the Bucks got absolutely raped though

Damn, a real solid move for the Clips. Re is gonna be draining threes all day long with CP3 setting him up. Dudley's no slouch either, I still have nightmares of him butt ing the Spurs in 2010

Clippers got some really solid players but they still keep stockpiling guys with the same skillsets that play the same position
they need some depth behind Griffin
lol at a frontline headlined by Griffin's overrated ass
then followed up by Jordan, Odom, and Hollins
even their bigs all bring the same skillset to the table and they all suck
its a good trade but I dont think it actually helps them compete
still have to see if they can flip some of them for another big
Clippers star players are in their primes so they dont need a lot of depth

Dudley can be shutdown by Green/Leonard
but SA had no one who could guard Bledsoe or Godsoe as that Clipper got who always posts here when the team wins
Clippers bench advantage is gone now so the only teams who can compete with us right now are OKC and depending where Dwight goes it would be that team

This is a really good trade for the Suns and a great trade for the Clippers.
Clippers get two 3-point specialists. Dudley, in particular, will be a great addition for them. Hustles, plays good defense, one of the best 3-point shooters in the league, fantastic locker room guy. Dudley is best suited for a team hoping to contend, not a team with a horrible roster currently in rebuilding mode.
Suns get a big expiring contract in Caron ($8 million) and a super-athletic PG who has plenty of upside. We traded a role player who has hit his ceiling for a 23-year-old who is just scratching the surface of his talent. Bledsoe and Dragic are both very athletic and get at it on both ends of the court. Dragic can handle play-making primarily and guard the 2, Bledsoe can pick up playmaking when Dragic hits the bench.
Even if we don't end up keeping Bledsoe, we are racking up young talent and setting ourselves up for the future. The Suns have no intention of building a contender this year. Another year or two of futility, make smart draft picks when the draft is much more loaded than it was this year, and trade away the valuable assets (Gortat's out of here before the end of the year). The Suns shouldn't be concerned about "filling in the gaps" right now, they should be concerned about racking up young players with upside and potential assets for future deals.
I like this trade a lot. Going to miss Dudley, though. He's been my favorite Sun since the moment we nabbed him from Charlotte. Now he gets to go to LA where he belongs, playing for a good team that needs him, reunited with Alvin Gentry.
The Kendall Marshall pick doesn't count since it was made by a different GM. And how the do you know Alex Len won't be better than Nerlens Noel? Why do you think 5 teams passed on Noel?

BB was mostly commenting to me specifically as he and I recently had a lengthy discussion on Noel. I'm actually very upset they passed on Noel. People who don't see it are nuts, but he is one of the most intriguing, highest upside post prospects in years. His frame is better for putting on weight than Davis, and he's an elite level defender in the mold of Hakeem. His freshman statistics were unlike any I have ever seen, being the only freshman to average 4 BPG and 2 SPG, with per-36 averages of 5 BPG and 2.5 SPG.
His body is an issue, but he's a year young and already shows an advanced feel for the modern game. His instincts are phenomenal, and his offensive approach improved by the week, as he identified space better, developed up/under and baby hook. Kentucky isn't Georgetown, so averaging 10 points as a raw C in a dribble-drive, wing-dominated offense is impressive.
Len isn't a bad pick. He's a questionable pick with a prospect like Noel on the board.
They must really question his knee, because listing both Len and Burke ahead of him is pretty comical, otherwise, especially considering Len has a stress fracture in his foot, which is an injury that has killed more careers of bigs than ACL injuries.
Suns could have had a pre-2014/2015 draft core of Noel/Goodwin/Bledsoe
That's some eye opening athleticism and a departure from their norm.
Instead it's Len/Goodwin/Bledsoe and that ceiling isn't nearly as high, that potential not nearly so eye-opening.
I wanted Noel over Len, too, but I don't think we're going to look back on this draft in 5 years and wonder what the we were thinking. Noel was an extremely talented defender in college, but I don't see him being a major factor in the NBA given his body shape. You say he can put on the weight naturally. I'm skeptical.
If I'm Phoenix, i trade Scola flr a 1st this offseason, I showcase the outa Dragic and Gortat and trade them for 1sts or prospects this deadline, then showcase and trade the ty Morris assholes for anything the offseason following.
I like all of this, except trading Dragic. If Dragic was a past-his-prime point guard, then yeah, but he's improving every year. Dragic is a piece of the long-term puzzle.
However, if an attractive deal comes along that brings in more talent and/or additional lottery picks, I could be swayed.
The game is changing. 235-245 at 6-10/11 is the new ideal big. See Bosh, Garnett, etc.
Noel has Alonzo Morning offensive potential to me. Maybe without the range. He's just turned 19, and will be 220 by start of the season, and his defense is absolutely projectable.
His floor is Camby. His mean is Mourning. If everything goes his way, his ceiling is Mourning offense/Hakeem defense.
I'm talking 15-17 PPG, 10-12 RPG, 4-5 BPG, 2+ SPG.
Suns will be lucky if Len is Nash-less Gortat.
I like Dragic, but Suns need to be bad, and to acquire picks, and to have CAP space. Dragic impedes these. He's lost on this team and steals minutes from Bledsoe and Goodwin.
People forget, Noel was a 2013 recruit initially, and was ranked #2 behind only Parker when he reclassified. He would have likely remained top-3 in the loaded class of 2013, right there with Wiggins, Randle, Parker, Gordon.
These are elite prospects everyone is drooling over, and Noel was ranked ahead of half of them.
Re has good shooting range which's gonna help the Clippers but are they worth Butler + Bledsoe?
