Please let this happen. Lakers lose all their skill in the post and join the Clippers as the second monkeyball team in Los Angeles.

If Mitch wasn't the most overrated GM of all time, he'd realize that the Lakers need wing athleticism and youth off the bench much more than they need Dwight Howard, and would instead try to move Gasol to fill those holes.
Lakers fans need to listen when I talk.

And that addition of wing athleticism (the unlikely emergence of Clark) is the only reason the Lakers aren't 10 games below .500 now.

The Lakers never needed Dwight Howard.

they needed glamor and his market value despite whether or not he's a good fit for the team imho.

This is true. Jim Buss loves selling them jerseys.

This must be like a dream for Nash. He has all the tools at his disposal. Howard is the perfect big for Nash to play with. They are going to pick and roll teams to death.
Making it too obvious he's going to resign
Good deal for L.A, Miami vs L.A will be fun to watch.

Can't imagine why Orlando accepted this deal. Almost seems worse than letting Dwight walk in 2013.
one year later, and Orlando's better off than any of the other three teams in this "blockbuster" trade

Everyone did a well in this trade except for ORL. The same idiots that loved the CP3 to Lakers deal will probably give this idiot a medal.
Turns out that Orlando is the only team that did well in this trade. Crazy how no one saw that coming

Assuming a max extension for Dwight, Lakers would have $90.8M committed to just seven players in 2013-14.

crofl it turned out even worse for them.

If this deal goes through, props to the Lakers. They MIGHT get to be the team to have the honor to share the court with the Heat when they repeat as champions.

The Lakers ed up by bring in Mike Brown. Bynum had to go after the he pulled last year. If they could move the 30 million dollar boat anchor they might make a run but it's not going to happen with that tired ass team.

They keep throwing teams together, totally changing the landscape and expecting a good result in the 1st year. You need a really super team to get that, and they don't have one. DHoward deal isn't even close to the Shaq move, and it's not even as good as the Pau Gasol move given the rest of the team and coach.

I would not say they did well. Philly did terrible, but they had to take a chance. They weren't going anywhere as currently constructed and needed another big piece. The gamble failed, but now they can rebuild like they would have had to anyways (just one year delayed). In the course of that, they were able to land a guy who many pegged as the number one pick this year in Noel (although they gave up a talented guy).

Nuggets put together a talented team, but flawed. Poor coaching did them in, but ultimately they landed with nothing major. But they also shed some bad to average players on larger contracts so ultimately no harm, no foul.

lol Lakers. Just a terrible management job, but getting Dwight was still the right move.

People say ORL did great, but they were one of the worst teams in the league didn't maximize their cap space or amount of draft picks they could have received and while a couple pieces in the trade seem like solid prospects, its far from a great trade overall. It's better than I thought, but I'm not ready to start lauding them for this trade yet.
