Jay Elect is a once in a lifetime sort of artist, that's just my perspective. I don't think I've ever skipped through any of his tracks, and that is important for me as a listener.
As far as Kendrick is concerned, I think it's good that someone is stirring things up. And I'd certainly like to see some battles take place on the larger stage, because it has been all bubble gum non sense for the longest. If you inject battling back into the larger stage, it forces people to start respecting lyricists again. But I don't like how he excludes the so called heavyweights. If you're the man, then you just are, don't pull punches.

I don't even see what Kendrick said as a diss. All it looks like is he's telling the 'New class' of hip-hop to keep up. He's even 'calling out' Big Sean and Jay E, who even spit on the same track.
Basically. He is telling the new era of rappers to get on his level. You gotta respect it. I never seen so many rappers catch feelings on twitter from one verse than I did last night.
If that counts as a diss track these days, then Pac is rolling over in his grave tbh.
