I think Patterson will come out defensively with the same scheme he had in 2006 when they held Tech without a touchdown winning 12-3. This was of course the meeting after tech almost put up 70 points to slaughter them the previous time.

TCU's dual threat Boykin will be a handful tonight, and a true test for our defense - Wreck em!

I have not watched enough of Tech to know what's going on with their offense but I can't picture Kingsbury being able to install even close to everything he wants to yet with Mayfield. Leach's pass offense was a very complex mixture of every type of route you can think of paired with a QB that could make all the throws. I could be wrong but I'm guessing that the Tech offense has been pretty vanilla so far this season and much easier to gameplan for as of today.

Saying that, there's no doubt Kingsbury will start to add some new wrinkles this week. He did the same last year, adding new things to the offense week by week with Johnny.

So Im a UTSA 'homer' yet I didnt know UTSA played Arizona this Saturday? The sentence before the one you quoted was talking about conference play. It doesnt take a genius to figure out what I meant. Doesnt even matter if you want to play stupid and get technical though...the fact remains that there will be a whole lot more conference play from now to the end of the season than there will be P5 vs G5/FBS vs FCS. I'm surprised at the number of people betting on TCU - should be a fun game tonight, and a good kick off to a solid weekend of football.

It was a tossup for me. It essentially came down to a true freshman walkon against a damn good TCU defense. It TT wins, it would not be that big of a shock. Its going to be a fun game to watch.

Maybe, but their schedule is one of the weakest in the country so it's going to be hard to tell. No ranked teams and Rutgers is probably their toughest remaining matchup

I will say that they're better (on paper) than they were last year, a team that annihilated Florida.

Bridgewater seems to be the real deal, and I like Strong a lot. But, without getting tested during the regular season I doubt they could go toe-to-toe with a battle tested Bama/LSU/Oregon/Stanford type team in a BCS bowl

I hate how they try to gain publicity by being really 'classy'. They pulled off that thing with the kid running for a TD during their spring game and today they let everybody and their mothers know ahead of time that they were honoring the player that passed away on UCLAs team.
