I hear the Repgus LYING like they always do that it's not their fault the govt will shutdown. ing anarchist asssholes, every one of them.

And we get to do it all again for the debt ceiling, which was raised 19 times under dubya, with nary a whimper from the Repugs. ing anarchist asssholes, every one of them.
You know what would really isolate them? The stock market really reacting to the threat. This would bring them back to reality quickly. So your treasured Obamacare would stay viable just because big companies would be deemed a bad investment for a while.

Does this thought not tear at you a bit Boutons? You are a guy who loves black and white, us and them, this possible overlapping of fortunes must be very uncomfortable for you. The fact that Republicans tearing themselves into two factions should be delightful for you, yet it actually is leading to a good deal of instability for democrats because its not clear who they should talk to on the other side. I guess you are hoping for the old established Republicans to gain a foothold by the stock market reacting. It's not good when the World's safe haven (US treasury bonds) can cause such a ripple.

Do you like the fact that bonds from the US are so well thought of Boutons? Or would you like to see that change? the big leverage handle for the tea baggies in this current spat is economic. Have you thought about this intertwined mess?

Obamacare isn't dependent on the financial markets. The reputation of the Repugs will be shattered by a shutdown. I am thrilled the tea baggers and libertarians are ripping apart the Repugs. A HUGE win for USA.

For the US default threat/debt ceiling extortion, it's total bull threat because the 1% (bond holders), Wall St, the entire financial sector, aka, Congress' paymasters, will simply not let the Repugs do it.

Dems shouldn't not give in to any extortion by the anarchists tea baggers, no compromises, because they hold the Senate and WH, which is why the House extremist minority is trying extortion since they don't have the power otherwise.

But if the government shuts down who will spy on Americans, steal our money and start illegal wars in the middle east?

My point is we live in a police state. Freedoms are eroding..red team AND blue team assist the 1% and are a part of it. Corrupt agencies, all of them.

you "got it" ? no, you got nothing

any Dem President, even as disappointing as Obama has been, is still miles better than any Repug.

I really really hope the Repugs run Paul or Cruz in 2016. Either one will be slaughetered by any Dem. The tea party flatters itself with the conceit that they represent The American People.

ignornant s, everyone of them, AND their followers.

The GOP as an en y is no longer a good vehicle to police its members. This is by virtue of of how SPACs and the like dominate the electorate.

I cannot help but think that something has to give beyond Beohner the patsy eventually.

How 30 House Republicans are forcing the Obamacare fight

There are 233 Republicans in the House. Insiders estimate that three-quarters of them, or about 175 GOP lawmakers, are willing, and perhaps even eager, to vote for a continuing resolution that funds the government without pressing the Republican goal of defunding or delaying Obamacare.

Another 20 to 30 GOP members sympathize with that position but might be willing to compromise, except for the fact that they fear a primary challenge from the Right.

Republicans Lose Business Allies As They Push U.S. Toward Shutdown

    1. The Chamber of Commerce: While the Chamber has been a Republican ally on deficit reduction through spending cuts and opposition to the Affordable Care Act, it is not interested in getting there through either a government shutdown or default on federal debt. It sent a letter to members of Congress two weeks ago pushing them to resolve both impasses quickly and cleanly. Noting that the issues Republicans have made demands over, such as defunding or delaying Obamacare or cutting spending, are not “ripe for resolution,” the letter said, “We therefore urge the House to act promptly to pass a Continuing Resolution to fund the government and to raise the debt ceiling, and then to return to work on these other vital issues.” It added, “It is not in the best interest of the U.S. business community or the American people to risk even a brief government shutdown that might trigger disruptive consequences or raise new policy uncertainties washing over the U.S. economy.”

    2. The Business Roundtable:
The group, which represents some of the country’s largest companies, released a report around the same time as the Chamber’s letter that showed that almost half of major American companies are likely to slow their hiring thanks to fights over funding the government and raising the debt ceiling. While it says it is not picking political sides, the group’s chairman, Boeing CEO Jim McNerney, has said, “We want leaders to lead and compromises to be found, because not doing that would have a serious impact on the economic growth of this country.”

    3. Wall Street:
Markets looked jittery on Monday morning and the Dow was down 100 points as the possibility of a shutdown loomed, and the S&P 500 stock index was down for four of the five trading days last week. As Nathaniel Popper reports at the New York Times, investors fear that the fight over funding the government foreshadows even worse outcomes when Congress faces the need to raise the debt ceiling. A failure to lift it could mean the U.S. defaulting on its debt obligations, potentially setting off devastating consequences for the bond market and the global economy.

the above is why the Repugs will not force a federal default.

Corporate-Americans want the all govt to be castrated so the corps can rape and pillage Human-Americans and the environment. But when the Frankenstein monster of the tea baggers they created and finance starts hurting their bottom line, they draw the line.
