Now we're moving onto Hines Ward I see. Anytime you wanna apologize for your 2 gaffes back there just let me know, fanboi
why are you calling Percy an MVP candidate? He was far from one in 2009. Sidney Rice was facing constant double coverage that season and making catches in spite of it, hence the Fitzgerald comparison.
If Sidney Rice isn't a great receiver why did Seattle pay him like one?
Now we're moving onto Hines Ward I see. Anytime you wanna apologize for your 2 gaffes back there just let me know, fanboi
Your boy Avante wouldn't.
I don't recall a gaffe. Rice had one big season out of 6 in his career an we are now latching onto his nuts because it
helps your Wilson argument. What's wrong with bringing up Hines ward, an actual pro bowl talent WR? Comparing Wilson to Ben in their early years seems reasonable to me
I absolutely couldn't care less
True, one has a ring
Not really. Ben was a road warrior. And you know damn well you forgot about Rice's injury in 2010, then backtracked and gaffed again by saying it occured at the begiining of the season before the team collapsed.
Do you always resort to lying when the argument's lost?
When Seattle gave Sidney Rice a 5 year, $41,000,000 contract were they "latching onto his nuts"?
No dude, that's the going rate for #2's leaguewide
Sidney Rice making more money than sambo the game manager
I was wrong about rice's injury but my point remained valid that he had one season which by now legitimately looks like a fluke over the course of 7 years.
I will repeat, I was wrong about rice's injury situation in 2010
If it makes you feel happy to point out a mistake I made that's fine. But that doesn't change my big picture argument one bit
As long as you admit that he's only had one season of an elite pocket passer throwing him the ball (and coincidentally he was awesome that year), then sure.
While he surely wasn't an MVP candidate in 2009, he still had big play ability which created space. You have to account for that game breaking ability. Even in 2009 he was a game breaker.
@ Contract numbers. There are plenty of bad contracts in every sport.
And I love this Fitz comparison. Lets see, 2010, Derek Anderson, yet he catches 1,100 yards and 6 TDS. 2011 Skelton/Kolb combo. 1,400 yards and 8 TDs.
Yeah, he's a number one on par with Larry Fitz. Fitz had a year with Skelton and Kolb that was better than Rice's best year with Favre!![]()
All I've been saying is he inspired Fitzgerald comparisons in 2009. I'm not sure why you're trying to argue the strawman of Fitz vs. Rice.
completely dismissing the fact Seattle is paying Rice like an elite receiver
Did he himself say Rice was on par with Fitz? He just said he was regarded that way in certain circles after that 2009 season. Apparently Seattle's management echoed those sentiments![]()
So what if he's being paid like an elite receiver, doesn't make him one.@$$$ Always equaling talent level. Call it a poor front office move, I'm not salty about it. Ask Buffalo about det Fitz contract sonnnn. Plenty of examples out there. Anyways...
He can be compared as much as he wants, he still isn't on the level, no matter how hard people try to make it that way. LOL "Inspired"
It makes it so, as Chief Brody said, Seattle seemed to buy into those Fitzgerald comparisons![]()
Although we all agree Fitz never should've received that contract, it still was only the 21st highest QB contract among starters at the time. Not guaranteed money though, and he was off the books following 2012.
what the are you talking about? Rice and Hasselbeck were never on the same team.
I know.
You considered Matt Hasselbeck an elite passer in 2011? Curious what his #'s were then
Again, who cares? Those comparisons were bogus. Doesn't matter who bought into them at the time. Tell me more about how amazing Kevin kolb is since he got paid
He's making more stuff up
Hasselbeck wasn't on Seattle in 2011. Their starting QB was Tarvaris Jackson that year![]()
