Scrub beating up on other scrubs, tbh...
I'd rather have Livio than Nando on the team this year, including bum knee.

Since he's not playing right now, that's all we have to go on. Hope he'll be worth the wait.
I hear you, it's just Spurs draft picks not named Kawhi Leonard have taught me to have negative outlooks first, so there's no let down if they don't amount to .

Wow. Just....wow. If you somehow think that the Spurs are terrible at drafting, get on your knees and thank whatever deity you worship that you're not a fan of any other team in the NBA. It's one thing to have low expectations, but implying that the Spurs do a bad job at drafting players is ridiculous.

I guess, but who has a better draft record than the Spurs in the last 10-15 years?

Never said the Spurs can't draft. You're misunderstanding where I was going. The Spurs recent drafts haven't been anything super exciting IMO, except for the Kawhi trade.

Biyombo also dominated this game (12 pts, 11 rebs, 10 blks) , taken by the Bobcats with the 7th pick. And has so far been been a bust. He started played 27 mpg and averaged only 5 points, 45 FG% and 52% FT

It doesn't mean much of anything. Jean Charles could turn into a very good player or a nice rotation player. It got him on the Spurs radar. Hopefully he can help Leonard and Splitter in the post Duncan & Ginobili era.

okay i'm replying. yeah top scorer defender and true %. and a high school prodigy/foreign prodigy game!... future stars in the nba! geez man, wake up! look at the video the dude posted in the livio thread. now look at a mock draft for 2014. geez! wtf are you smokin', i want want some. why is the drunkest guy almost the most sane?

speaking of waking up. chump and niner don't realize you must be a fellow draft and stash hater. a different breed than myself though. obviously, you don't understand the value of livio. how confusing!

the spurs do suck at drafting. not because splitter, nando, livio, or anybody like that suck. but because of the blair, anderson, thomas picks. the kind where they never really appear to have the faith.

I don't think anyone should realistically expect Livio to do that on a consistant basis. Bruno wasn't too positive on him pre draft, as he's not an amazing athlete. With the 28th pick, a fringe starter/rotation guy is a good pickup. If his skills perfectly fit as a garbageman 3/4 next to Kawhi and some creative guards, that'd be great. We can't expect fringe MVP candidates with every #28 pick.

OK as the OP I have a few things to say after reading y'alls comments.

    1. There are some guys in there that teams are TANKING to get because they believe them to be future franchise players. Those are no scrubs. There's a reason this year is the year of Riggin' for Wiggins, because even if you get the #5 pick you still got Jabari Parker, Julius Randle, Aaron Gordon, Dante Exum etc. who teams believe can be stars.

    2. Bismack Biyombo was probably 27 during the Hoops Summit so it's no wonder he dominated other high schoolers and showed no improvement after.

    3. We do not suck at drafting.

    4. He is definitely better than Deshaun Thomas

Not at all. People were making a big deal about the Hoop summit game. I pointed out Biyombo played extremely well in the game and skyrocketed up the draft board. While Charles played great and put his name on the map. I was pointing out that because he played well in a game like this doesn't mean he's a stud but has some nice potential down the road.

Spurs late first round picks in last 10 years.

    Beno Udrih (bench rotation) - 2004, #28
    Ian Mahinmi (bench rotation) - 2005, #28
    Tiago Splitter (starter) - 2007, #28
    George Hill (starter) - 2008, #26
James Anderson (starter, but really should be a fringe rotation player) - 2010, #20
Cory Joseph (bench rotation player) - 2011, #29

6 players in the 20s in the past decade, 2 starter caliber players, 4 rotation caliber players. Think it's fairly safe to say that the Spurs don't suck at drafting and unless the injury lingers Livio will become an NBA player.

This. drunk needs to get a clue. You don't complain about second round busts. MOST second rounders don't make it. MOST late first rounders don't make it, yet look at SA's record while ALWAYS drafting late.

Even our "misses" (players we drafted but never suited up for us) are impressive.

Despite all the good. The spurs suck at drafting. To me, its ridiculous to be trying out young, maggette, howard, and whoever next. When there are 0 rookies on the team. And neither of the picks from the draft were traded.
